All in all, it was mediocre. I'll probably not find a reason to watch it again. The characters were meh, the twists were bad, the script was very CW young teen drama. I definitely feel they would have done better if they had just forgone the name Wesker and made the series about a couple of unknown characters. It sort of felt like I was watching fanfiction and someone had made up multiple OC children and then children of OC children. Rating, 5.5/10

Oh my god. This was so bad. What the fuck. (Also, that is how you use the word fuck in a sentence). Now I can't really blame the actors because they worked with the script they were given. But the script was garbage. There was very little character development despite them trying to develop the characters. Like, I felt absolutely nothing when they were in the mansion later in the movie. Let's start with Leon. Leon S. Kennedy in the games is a rookie cop, yes. But he isn't a shitbag. Yes, I said it. In the movie Leon is portrayed as a lazy shitbag who doesn't want to be there, didn't take his training seriously, and is garbage at his job. Just because he picks up a rocket launcher in the end and says Carlos's line from RE3R doesn't make it a character arc. He's just shitbag with a rocket launcher. That was probably the worst out of the characters. Wesker. Didn't work for Umbrella. Didn't know what the fuck was going on. Didn't wear sunglasses. Wasn't a scientist. Had some half assed reason for betraying the team. Felt like some normal guy in the sticks. Like I get that you're trying to humanize him and that's fine, but you don't take out everything that makes the character to do it. You can still make a villain a villain and give them human qualities. Hell you could make him a conflicted villain. In this he wasn't even a villain. Hell, The Rock did betrayal better in a movie I saw on Netflix recently. Make him act one way throughtout the movie and then suddenly shift gears at the reveal because he's a spy and that's what they do. Not that hard. Jill, I kind of dislike what they've done to Jill recently. They seem to associate being bitchy with being a badass and that's not really what it needs to be. But making her...I guess come off as strong as she did? Kind of a strange choice. Not gonna lie. I don't mean strong like she overcame adversity. I mean strong like in your face. A woman doesn't have to be in your face to be strong. Jill in RE1R was strong because she was thrust into a situation and although at first she froze and was freaking out, she overcame it. This Jill was just...no. Chris is kind of hard to get wrong. The weird thing with Birkin though was dumb and I didn't understand that plot point at all. But they could have cut out the orphanage stuff and I wouldn't have missed it at all. Claire and Chris were estranged which I found weird. But meh. I understood why they put Richard on the team. They needed someone to kill off. Not much to say there except they could have mentioned Barry like "richard's filling in today because Barry's on vacation with his family" 10 seconds and it's done. The Birkin monster talking at the end was just cringe worthy. The third act was so rushed. I guess, I just have very little good to say about this movie. I have so many nit pick things I could go on about. And some of it may be character headcanon things, but a lot of it is just base character traits. As for the story, they would have benefitted from making this into a netflix series instead of whatever Wesker's Children abomination that's going to come out. Then they could have had buildup, developed the stars team, developed umbrella (which there was no development of in this movie), and given us some decent survival horror by splitting up 1, 2, 3. Honestly, I hope there is not a sequel to this.

"I was put into service eight years ago. AIs deteriorate after seven, Chief." This is a custom Cortana model I made, the tattoos were hard to get right on her body and line up. It was another thing to make her transparent in the rendering software. That had a bit of a learning curve.

The lack of a trailer or any kind of teaser is also a little concerning considering the movie is supposed to come out in two months. Makes me thing they don't have anything finished enough or the studio has too many hands in the pot which is never good for a movie.

Been playing a lot of Aliens: Fireteam Elite lately and I had the urge to make some artwork. It turned out pretty cool. Gotta have that gross Xeno spit.

Some nivanfield fanart I was working on. The clothing still needs some work, but I'm happy with the models. Piers' profile is a little softer than I've seen others make him. He's spot on from the front. I'll post a portrait soon.
