The first time I met a trans individual it was at a 3-day camping field-trip, she was one of the camp counselors. I think I was around 12 at the time and I remember she was the sweetest, most patient person alive.

During most of the trip the other campers and I had no idea so we used masculine pronouns for her and she never corrected us. I didn’t understand why at the time but now it makes me sad to think that she most likely couldn’t because it would’ve caused issues with parents. Surprisingly near the end of the trip one of the chaperones sat most of us down and told us; he didn’t exactly say that she was trans, just simply said that she was a girl.

I remember this so vividly because I think this was also my queer awakening lol. I had a fat crush on her throughout the trip, and when that information came out my crush didn’t go away at all. If anything it made me admire her a lot more. I still think about her every once in a while, I really hope she’s safe and is doing okay. I wish all my fellow trans people out there are safe and live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives as they please.

I see you, I hear you, and I love you for who you are and who you’re going to become. I know it’s hard now but remember that no matter what happens you ARE allowed to exist in this world as you wish, and disregard anyone who tells you otherwise.

I’ve been on the internet 𝙖 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙩 time (as most of us have been lol) and safe to say this has been the best fandom/ internet space I’ve been in, And that just speaks volumes about how genuine and wonderful you and your team are! Being in this community, watching you create content at your pace and being able to pick your brain a little about your progress is a huge inspiration to many, including myself.

And it’s not just your content either; because of how down to earth you were about your own mental health and how you talk about your ADHD, It gave me the courage to seek help for my own mental health. It gave me hope that things could change for the better, that I could change for the better. You have no idea how much I appreciate that alone.
