of course hornet is very perceptive and nkg is obviously huge and gives off a lot of heat, so in a sense this is something he can only do once they've gotten closer. close enough that his presence isn't so special and can fade into the background of familiarity. probably a huge reason why hornet doesn't get cross after this stuff but can instead meet it with good humor or a wry observation that he's quite sneaky!

Grimm might take the fall in those scenarios if he thinks Hornet will be embarrassed if he tells her the truth, but NKG is never lying to Hornet lol. Either way those confrontations usually lead to them making good on her dreams.

yeah I've seen it! i frequently like the art. could be interesting if they somehow connect via both being in the void somehow but otherwise there's no canon backing that they would have met or will meet so it's a bit more of a hard sell for me! i'd like to ship her with someone that's not totally out of the realm of canon possibility.
