my first attempt at Uberhood died after 5 rounds, and by died i mean became totally unplayable - urns and tombstones are disappearing, ancestors go missing from the family tree, crashes at the specific time (every time in every family), and so on. the funniest thing that happened was probably the TVs were falling off the walls in every single household and even in community lots too. every time someone would turn that plasma on it will fall down immediately. i guess i had it coming, because i decided to make the base game Pleasantview the core of the entire playthrough, which, in the long run, became what it is
i am a little disappointed, of course, because i put a lot of time in these families, and grew attached to many characters and their relationships dynamic, not to mention all the little tweaks and lot makeovers i had to do or download. to go over through this again would be exhausting, but i really like playing with premades, so i guess i have to. i'm sure if i'll do it one step at a time it wouldn't be a total chore to do a makeover of everyone in one sitting
the best thing that came from that playthrough is, of course, the dynamic between Mercutio and Tybalt. they relationship were hilarious to follow through, and it culminated nicely right before the game decided to break entirely
of course to go through the proposal they both should cut ties with their families and run together somewhere nice like Desiderata Valley, but oh well. will never see that come to tuition, so may as well decide this engagement as an ending to this entire "series"
my next favorites are Puck Summerdream and Ripp Grunt, both dear to my heart so much, that i even decided to make Puck an immortal fairy overseer for the entire uberhood, forever. he and Nervous should have been stayed as a constant between everchanging families, both never aging. sad to see that idea didn't last long
clear favoritism which will continue in my fresh playthrough, i'm sure of it
i decided to go with one neighborhood this time, since my pc can't handle all of them at once. it wasn't that hard to choose, considering most of my faves are from Veronaville. i also like the town itself, the divide between styles and the lore around it, so i'm going to stick with it. it would be hard not to miss interactions between Puck and Ripp, or even Tybalt and Johnny Smith - they became quite close friends back in uni and had similar goals of becoming mayors of their respective towns, which was funny considering how different they are personality wise. i guess fighting your teenage crush, i mean rival, at the loading screen on the first day of uni really do well for men bonding
i want to document all the changes this time, including makeovers, so when my save explode again, i could go back and see how it all started. also, i changed reshade to a less bright, but more cinematic. it really popped the overall look of the game for me (old one on the left vs. the new one on the right on some random screenshots i had the closest)
the only problem with this is, of course, the lack of families, which could really quickly led to everyone being everyone's relative. first thought i have is to use university sims to dilute these Capps and Montys a little, and i'm probably gonna stick with it (i need to download some sims for it i guess, since i use all the clean templates and all my uni hoods are empty... oh well)
i started to move premades around the town into their new shiny houses, and may i say something controversial? the hold this game have on you from the first second you boot up a household is no other life sim could replicate to this day. i mean look at it
phenomenal. ten out of ten engagement right then and there (don't mind that abysmal Mercutio's haircut, my default replacements are like this sometimes. he will get his glow up soon). so much happened just in one minute i left this game unpaused, and i want all of it
