⸝ lee.
lee tipped their head back, pushing the brim of their hat off their eyes, and uncrossed their arms, gradually pushing off the wall though their legs did complain something fierce. they rolled their eyes at silas, since the answer seemed obvious given their slumped posture, and didnât reply. the ten minute wait had been long enough to get thoroughly bored.
lee decided the second comment was more pertinent to hops than themâ the old hound had gone and sat himself smack in the middle of the doorway. â donât think he knows what loiterinâ is, si, but Iâll tell off him later. â they stepped over the dog to enter the shop, rubbing their eyes. predictably, hops lowered his head back between his big greying paws and promptly shut his eyes again, ignoring them both.Â
lee tapped the door bolt with their knuckles as they followed silas in. â youâre gettinâ damned paranoid in your⌠â they considered their next words carefully, the ghost of a smirk on their lips. â âŚadvancing years, ainât ya? if I wanted in so bad, Iâd find a way past one sorry olâ lock, you do know that⌠your doors got glass in âem. â Â
â there's nothing wrong with being paranoid. especially not in tombstone. â silas replied, shaking his head. at first he was only going to ignore the comment about the ... how did they put it? his advancing  years? right. he was going to ignore that. but then he decided against it in the next moment, stopping halfway through the store and raising an eyebrow at them. â careful, lee. you'll be this age one day, too. i wouldn't make fun of me or my paranoia just yet. â
the man turned, took another step, and then stopped in his tracks again before turning on his heel and looking at lee one more time. â break my doors and you'll be paying for it, kid. glass isn't cheap, you know. â it was true. the glass panes in the door weren't very practical. and they were a bitch to clean when the dust storms hit, but they looked good. no one wanted to buy anything from a store that didn't look good. finally he turned back around and kept walking.
â did you need something, or did you just drop by to mock my age and threaten my doors? â
