Title: "Pameran 100 Tahun Pendidikan Formal Negara Brunei Darussalam" Organisation: Kementerian Pendidikan, Negara Brunei Darussalam Year: 2014
This brochure came from an MOE (Ministry of Education) exhibition celebrating 100 years of formal education. The exhibition itself ran in October 2014 at the International Convention Centre, Brunei.
Formal education in Brunei began with the setting up of the first Malay school in 1914. The brochure gives an overview of the 100 years by splitting them into 4 periods:
Phase 1: 1914-1950: The first steps to overcome illiteracy and establish basic education. This period also includes the Japanese occupation of Brunei during World War II. [37 years]
Phase 2: 1951-1967: Various policies and developments including the first National Development Plan, scholarships, free health services at school and training centres for teachers. [17 years]
Phase 3: 1968-1983: Moving towards international standards of education. Some of it is administrative - setting up bodies for curriculum development and examination board. Also the introduction of vocational and technical schools. [16 years]
Phase 4: 1984-2014: Policies accommodating bilingual education, students with special needs, religious education. Other developments include: the increase of private schools and high education institutes, Teacher's Day awards, and the localisation of curriculum materials. The SPN21 system was also introduced in 2009. [31 years]
Title: Resepi Berasaskan Durian Organisation: Department of Agriculture & Agrifood, MIPR Year: 2014 Ref: JP/RP/19/2014
This isn't a leaflet, but an adorable little accordian-type booklet. The page on the back is for notes.
The 8 recipes included are:
Salurut Durian
Dalamu Durian
Penkek Durian (shown above)
Donat Durian
Waffle Durian
Tempoyak Durian
Sos Pencecah Tempoyak
Jem Serikaya Durian
I personally like the way the ingredients have been laid out:
I've decided to start including pages from other free publications from the Brunei Government, alongside the leaflets of course! For these types of scans, I won't scan in the whole publication.
"Lindungi Anak Awda dari Asap Tembakau di Persekitaran"
A leaflet in Bahasa Melayu containing Q & As about passive smoking.
Questions covered:
This leaflet is undated but was likely from the late 2000s. I know this because I know the children featured on the front cover. :p

I decided to revive this Tumblr. Sorry that I'm starting with this set of pictures, but I wanted to get it over with. I photographed this brochure using terrible lighting options, and tried to make up for some of the unclear text by doing them over. But then I got lazy, and the effort didn't seem worth it for what were bad photos in the first place. So yeah.
