“I got ‘em from me Pa.” Theresa explained. “The one word explanation is Acoustikinesis. It gets complicated from there.”

“About Tony? ‘m a supporter, believe it or not. He made a few good points.”

“They tried ‘ta kill us with their Mists. They really acted the maggot. Some tears on their behalf won’ kill ‘em like they tried ‘ta kill us.”

“See, I just lived out ma disaster. Everything is calmer now, believe it or not.” 

“Seems like a good deal to make.” Theresa held her hand out. “You have the word of an Irishman. Not sure it’s worth much.” 

Theresa had worked with her father, but she had never considered pairing up with someone like Daisy. “Sounds like it would be a real interestin’ time, that’s for sure.” The redhead nodded. “Best ‘ta try it in an empty field.”

“Lorna’s a good friend. I know she was sufferin’ from it. There have been some others but I’ve been doin’ okay. They say it’ll be over soon.” 

A little glass had gotten in her hair, and Theresa carefully removed it from the red locks. “That was me bein’ controlled, just so ya know. I didn’t want ‘ta blow out ya eardrums over some potato crisps.”

“--’m a second generation mutant. I grew up around this mess. I should be used ‘ta it. We can chalk it up to tryin’ times.”

“intolerant or stupid people, mostly. that or when we lose the futbol cup.” 

“take out the probably. i would if i wasn’t careful.” thank god she was. theresa had been at this for too long to make a mistake like that. “i don’ want you shatterin’ my bones either.”

“peace is a good t’ing to come in.” theresa reasoned. “’m not the right person ‘ta ask. i wasn’t around much durin’ the whole pleasant hill mess. try marvel girl or the professor.”

“screamin’ is my mutation. a lotta things happen and most a them aren’t pleasant.”

“it’s 'ta stupid comments. they get ‘ta ya after a while.”

“at 140 decibels i think we can do more than you pass out.” the redhead quipped. “more than i should get into standin’ here. i can thank my pa for all of these vocal abilities.” her hand briefly passed over her throat before she listed the abilities. “and the fecker morrigan for the rest.”

theresa gave the woman a second glance, one brow raising slightly. “ya want me to scream at the machine? truly?” she rolled her shoulders back. “plug your ears, beour.” when her mouth opened the controlled sonic scream ripped through the air before the glass shattered. theresa cleared her throat. “and there’s that.”

“i’m the daughter of a mutant. i grew up seein’ things that were different.” theresa reassured her. “and what may those be?”
