Bruce can cook, by the way.
And Alfred saying he can't is literally telling on himself also!! The lifetime ban thing makes me so angry. If Bruce can't cook because of how he was raised, well who raised him?!
Yup!
Batman: the Knight #2
One thing I always like to note about the "how do you mess up a tuna sandwich" incident is that it has nothing to do with Bruce's ability to cook or prepare food.
The tuna was expired. That's how he messed it up.
And if there's one thing you can reasonably say Bruce has had very little experience in having to do or keep track of (at least at the time), it was household inventory.
That is a good point! Buuut I still find it hard to believe that The Batman (a very observant guy) wouldn't notice that the tuna went bad and then proceeded to feed it to Tim.
So instead, I'm choosing to believe that he decided cooking is just not something he has time for, so he paired that tuna with a herb or spice or something that is completely harmless but not a great combination at all. And then went: "OooOoh I'm so helpless in the kitchen, Tim! :) You definitely wouldn't want to ask me to make you snacks! :)"
In zdarsky's batman run alfred tought bruve how to cook and Bruce also sometimes cooked for them though probably only when alfred was away or preoccupied
