HADM May 12: Pearl (Louey)
Pearl was about ready to have a breakdown. Grian had been missing for over a week now, with no sign or message since he had been kidnapped by Malvaceae.
Walking into work, she was immediately pulled into a hug attack by Hermes.
“You’re here! Finally!” they exclaimed.
“...What?” she asked, very much confused.
Hermes deadpanned, “I have not slept in three days and I need to rest eventually.”
She gently peeled them off her and sent them to their apartment, though she was still unsure as to where, exactly, it was.
They exited through the back, leaving Pearl in charge of the shift. She caught herself wondering where Melody was, then shrugged it off. They were probably at school or something.
It was a long time before Pearl had a moment to herself again, since apparently the entire Heroes’ Association had decided to get drinks today, of all days. When she was finally able to catch her breath, it was nearing seven am, and the others in the back were getting ready to leave.
As she moved to the coffee machines, to make an order, she caught sight of Hermes and Melody right as they entered through the back. Both of them looked exhausted, with Melody sprouting a bruise on one cheek. As they stepped through, they quickly embraced then pulled apart, with Hermes moving to the mysterious door in the back and Melody going to the register.
“Hey Pearl,” she greeted quietly.
“Hey,” Pearl responded. “Rough night?”
Melody nodded, their braid swishing back and forth. “Smacked myself in the face with a hanging pot.”
Pearl grimaced in sympathy, handing off the latte she had just made to the waiting customer.
“Well, I’ve got to get going. My courses aren’t going to pass themselves. See you later, Mel.”
With that, she hung up her apron, grabbing her keys and heading out the back.
Grian would have to wait until her courses were done.
