You call them dumb rich people names. I call them D&D NPC names.

I always love this post when it comes around but have always been tempted to add, as I now will do, that the name Tryge is a pretty regular Norwegian name and having grown up with many Scandinavian relatives and neighbors I’ve known more than one person with that name. I had a family friend whose three sons were named Kristoff, Karl and Kjell, all pretty standard Norsk names (that last one is pronounced “Chell”). 

My mom knew a girl in high school who was never given a name and on her birth certificate it said Baby Girl so everyone called her BG
