Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)
Ummm the Naziâs didnât become a major threat until AFTER 1933, heck I think Hitler was in JAIL during 1933 after the Beer Hall fiasco. I could be wrong but, I think the movie makers forgot to check their history. Unless the Naziâs got into power in 1933 in Noirâs verse. Context helps.
This was so easy to google:
Not to mention the fact that while Nazis as a formal party existed for 13 years as of his âhomeâ era, the political faction that would ultimately develop into the Nazi war machine existed for decades before that and made up a fair amount of the German forces in WWI. The antisemitism Nazis built their ideology on existed in that region for millennia by that point. And if anyoneâs thinking âwell sure, Nazis existed, but America didnât get involved in the war until much later,â Iâll remind them that spider-man is a different guy than the US Military.
1933 is literally when Hitler came to power how the fuck is someone gonna try to criticize an alternate timeline in a superhero movie for sharing the same history as the real world
The Nazis took control of Germany in January 1933. By March, theyâd dismantled democracy. From the moment they took office, they turned a blind eye to their supporters harassing, beating, or even killing Jews, and by April, theyâd begun legally persecuting Jews themselves.
Spider Noir would have had tons of opportunities to punch Nazis in 1933. Both members of the official Nazi government in Germany, and their American fanboys - who, by the way, called themselves the America First movement. Make of that what you will.
In this house, we stan Nazi-punching black-and-white spider-ledgends only.
