big makeup hauls r awesome, but PLEASE: don’t steal more than maybe 3 palettes from one store. Places like ûltä that used to be easy r now becoming extremely difficult for newer lifters, and eventually it will be IMPOSSIBLE to lift from there

yeah definitely contact ulta and complain really strongly about it, you might get a gift card or something out of it and in general it’s bad publicity for stores to be known for doing that

When we cancelled the card and complained all we got was an apology. Honestly though they ought to feel bad because she’s really old and really frail and she took the time to get dressed and drive her car that’s literally older than me to get there to get the lipstick. She’s saw it (the lippie) in one of their sales paper that they sent her home. The whole situation makes me very angry.

That’s disgusting.  Seriously, some places won’t even MENTION IT even if older people steal stuff, because, you know, it’s kind of shit to be manhandling and being rude to someone’s elderly nana, not to mention not worth it in terms of bad publicity and trying to deal with legal costs, etc. (And honestly, we’re talking about a sector of the community who may not have long left on this planet, who have survived world wars and the Depression and losing loved ones and watching the world get shittier and shittier… is it really *worth* disrespecting older people? Especially given that so many of them are living on the smell of an oil rag and stuck with sub-standard living situations? Poverty amongst the elderly is a huge thing: in some places they’re the ones buying staples like meat and basic groceries from boosters because they otherwise can’t afford that shit.)   Who’d you complain to? The store manager mightn’t have done much, but how about their Human Resources person or District Manager?  I’d write a letter (or email) which would be politely but firmly explaining what happened, and then pointing out that your grandma has been a customer for years and that family members get her stuff from there for her special occasions but she was humiliated by the treatment she received. Really lay it on, and how awful she felt. Because that shit just isn’t on.  If someone treated my mum like that (she’s not frail, but she’s survived cancer, and she looks about twenty years younger than she actually is, which often makes people treat her poorly until they realise she’s as old as she is, LOL) I would be calling current affairs stations, leaving messages on the company’s FaceBook, and basically demanding some respect.  While your grandma mightn’t be in their target age demographic, she still deserves to be treated with respect and like a customer. (And I dunno, maybe I’m a bit old-fashioned, but to me, you treat vulnerable groups– folks who are frail or sick or otherwise dicked around by society– as well as older people– with respect unless they’ve done something so shitty that they don’t deserve it any more.) 

This makes my blood boil, please hug your sweet grandma for me😡😡 Its one thing for the SA’s @ Ulta to go all extra and follow us around (not saying that it’s RIGHT, but you know what I mean…it happens) but to do this to your Grandma? Seriously WHAT THE FUCK? They need to back their shit up and learn some damned respect. I was taught from a very early age to respect my elders and this just makes me SO MAD. Where do they get off, srsly? And the GM was rude to you too? Wow, what a respectable great company 🙄 I am so sorry doll–just WTF is wrong with this world?

It just means that we have to get smarter and more innovative, and learn more about how they think and where their weaknesses and “human blind spots” are. Seriously, think about it: I’m sure the “lifting community” shat bricks when cameras started becoming cheaper and more widely used and harder magnet tags started appearing on things.  Unless they’re going to keep everything behind the counter and under lock and key, there’s still going to be a way to steal it. We just have to work out how to.

We’ve got this bby’s. When there’s a will, there’s a way. We are creative & always know how to keep our skills sharp in order to stay on top of the game. If anything, look at this as an opportunity to sit back & come up with new ideas on how to make all of our techniques better.

You can’t feel bad about lifting. It’s not good or bad, we’ve been taking things since the beginning of time to get things going. From the earth, trees, etc. We use what we have in the situations we’re given. It’s about what you take, who from, what it affects and how. Companies that take from us, the people, don’t necessarily need to be treated with respect (if you can get away with it). Just because you get punished for doing something doesn’t mean it’s bad. Like jerking off. Deemed bad but is it really? 🙄No. It’s all about control. So no, lifting isn’t bad. But don’t take from home based companies and shops, it hurts the people! Not corporations! I’m sorry about the long paragraph, but I hate seeing lifters hating on themselves because of the hate we receive. It’s not our fault the privileged will never see it from our point of view. I pity them for being close minded though.

Oh also @lift-it-like-its-hot it took about 2-3 weeks and I bought it WITH the magnet but I haven't been able to try it yet so I'm not 100% on if it works!
