Okay, I've finished up so here are my thoughts. This is the data on every single progen ever made: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ll7Q1SmtkEjQo13It1B43Yla_LQ2yQZ2qwMdtmrLBpQ/edit?usp=sharing
- This includes both custom and random progens because that's the only way for us to grab true, bulk data of every user on site, even ones that are not community active. Essentially what this means, is that the trends are diluted by 50%. In custom progen data, you would expect to see the trends more severe than they would be otherwise.
- It is possible for people to scatter their progens, so new colors were not included. This is, however, a very very small number of people, especially in comparison to the probably couple hundred thousand accounts where people made their progens and looked at the site briefly and then never played again. We're talking on the level of hundreds of thousands of accounts and over 1.2 million progens.
- The distribution of tertiaries is pretty much perfect RNG. No human can actually do this, even if they try their hardest to be random. Essentially we have no evidence that any human thoughts were influencing this at any noticeable level. Scatters can play into this, but people were clearly not scattering enough to have an effect such that it could be perceivable in large data like this.
- It does not mean that it is completely impossible that less than 100 or so people chose, and then the admins lied about it, but I personally think it wouldn't make sense as something to lie about. But it's not really my place to say any more on that lmao. What we do know is that there was never an entire registration window that was able to pick, or any kind of large number of people like we see the large number of memories. (I too thought I chose when I first joined even though I know now that I definitely didn't. That initial reg process goes by so very fast it's all a blur.)
- Now the question I have right now is what the FUCK is going on with seafoam. Every single tert color varies only slightly as you'd expect normal RNG to do, but for some reason there are a couple thousand less progens with seafoam terts than there should be. Where did they go? Did some seafoam eating monster eat them??????? Did thousands of people get together one afternoon and say 'let's scatter our progens cause seafoam sucks'? ???? If so, why not an unpopular color like tomato.
Did an entire reg window collectively meet in a back alley and decide to abandon seafoam?
Was there a bug, briefly, that failed to assign seafoam as a potential tert????????????? Hell if I know.
Anyway sorry for rambling forever I just saw an opportunity for research and took it! Still kinda fucked up about Seafoamgate though. If you have a theory let me know.
