never enough; the fr story

fr feels pretty empty these days, as the boards have slowed to a crawl. there's a lack of engagement, even by the devs. no more fun deity posts. no more words on the wind. we get a cozy stream that isn't even onsite.

and outside of breeding once a month- do you want to play the fairgrounds for 20 minutes every day like you have for the last decade? or grind the coliseum for negligible rewards? gather for 15 turns to have a 700 dragon lair return with 1 branch? fun.

player count has dipped drastically. there are currently 1143 users and 7878 guests/bots. this is the day after a new breed was announced.

the people who are still here just want to engage with the site like they used to. they want to buy and gene and breed dragons, and the lair space cap is hurting those who've been there for the last dozen years (and it's not an exaggeration! my blog turned 13 years old last month).

i want QOL updates that allow me to play the game again; to get excited about all these new breeds that i dont have space for. i want to spend time on fr without it hurting my wrists because the only site activities are to grind. i want to feel more than a "ha ha cool ig" when something new is released. i want updates that let me play dragons rather than watch through a window.

meanwhile, we have no lair space for them. i feel so stagnant right now because ive accomplished all of my gameplay goals (ignoring writing personal lore). i want to just buy and look at dragons, but have no space to put them in. would love to get rid of some and have. ive exalted and sold dozens. sales are low because everyone else also has full lairs lol

according to a post on fr, we've gotten 6 spaces in 8 months. we had 25 spaces last year. it's disheartening that in a dragon collection/breeding sim, you can't consistently enjoy doing those things due to site restrictions. which considering the active player base has decreased in number (you can make this conjecture by seeing how slow the forums are, and how many guests vs active players), i wish that mods would reassess how more lair space would affect the servers

gene bloat. the poor mp.

new breed means dozens of new umas for gems people don't have after spending on the breed itself. im NOT complaining that the new breed is a gem breed, especially with time warning. what im saying is that due to being an ancient, the only way to dress them up is spend another 350-1200g.

also a little sad for abberations, since having two heads was their thing and mr. three heads comes along. again, this isn't a negative post on chorus dragons! hydras are awesome. it's that aberrations now feel... lesser?
