for my shifters who are wanting out of here ASAP, i want you guys to focus your energy and attention on how relieving it’ll feel to be in your dr instead of focusing so heavily on wanting to escape.

1- Tudor

Emerged in between 1485 and 1603 during the government of the Tudor Dynasty in England and Wales, marking the final phase of the Middle Ages in Europe. The style had its revival during 1890-1940. Characteristics: mixture of Renaissance with Gothic elements, leaded-glass windows, steeply pitched gable roofs, turrets and towers, vibrant colors, ornate chimneys, carved wood detailing.

2- Art Noveau

modernist art style that manifests since 1890/1900’s in France during the Belle Èpoque. Characteristics: use of materials such as: iron, glass, wood and cement ; organic and complex forms , asymmetric lines , symbolism , botanical themes , opposition of romanticism , valorization of the rationalism.

dr ideas: julio verne books, cozy fantasy (Alice in wonderland for example)

3- Praire

Originated during the turn of the 20th century and heavily influenced by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright who thought that the Neoclassical style that was predominant didn’t actually had any “American authenticity”, so he decided to create the “Praire School”. Characteristics: strong horizontal features, geometry, central chimneys, flat roofs, integration with the landscape and large dimensions.

4- Art Deco

Art Deco symbolizes the “economic growth” during the 1920s (known as the “roaring 20s”) in a period between the ending of the First World War and beginning of The Great Depression in 1929. Characteristics: bold and luxurious buildings, geometric shapes, high contrast, heavily inspired by ancient americans and Africans civilizations, sophisticated elements and glamorous lightening.

5 - Googie

Represents the optimistic and exciting retro futurism views during 1940s to 1970s in Southern California when the world was fighting the Cold War and Space Race. It was mostly used in Sci-Fi media as an entertainment and commercial tool. Characteristics: futurism, unrealistic technology, bold shape design, ultramodernism, car culture, glass and steel, vibrant neon colors, starbursts, big signs and attractive lighting.

dr ideas: Star Wars, Star Trek, Metropolis, Old Disney Universe (just hear me out), Back To The Future, The Terminator, Futurama, Scooby Doo

more shifters should honestly adopt the mindset we have over there on ao3.

“don’t like, don’t read.”

people are gonna script things u don’t like and they’re going to shift to realities where it exists. there’s really no point in convincing them otherwise since it’s their journey.

i’ve seen this a lot among shifters on tiktok and it’s one of the reasons why the community over there is the worst … 😭 it’s completely fine to dislike something and distance yourself from those people, but i don’t get why you would waste your time arguing instead of actually shifting!

reality is what you want it to be, but you’re giving other people control over yours. my advice? stick to your own, personal journey, and just shift!
