Apply for a place at Shift - a hui for young people of minority sexualities, genders, and sex characteristics run by InsideOUT from 22nd-25th April at Horouta Marae in Porirua, Wellington! The hui is for young people aged 15-20 as of 22nd April, but you are welcome to contact us if you are older than this and interested in volunteering. Applications close on Sunday March 3rd at 11pm. All applicants will hear back from us by Friday March 8th. Shift is a workshop based hui. By applying to come you understand this is a learning environment and you are expected to participate in the majority of workshops and activities that are available. Due to the venue size, Shift only has space for 50 attendees and about 50 volunteers. We prioritise registrations for those who have not been to Shift previously and maintain a wait list if you aren't accepted in our first round of applicants. Shift places will be allocated as fairly as possible across the regions in Aotearoa/New Zealand. We apologise in advance for any disappointment caused by the small numbers, but we are planning to have some of the panels and workshops available through social media. We live streamed some of the panels in 2017 and 2018 and it was really great, so we want to do that again! The information shared in your application will be kept private and only accessed by InsideOUT staff (Jean and Tabby) and some volunteers at Shift as necessary (for example, we will need to let support volunteers know if you face any medical or mental health challenges). We are collecting some demographic information this year as well. We are asking for ethnicity, gender, and sexuality identifiers. We want this to be easy and not scary, so you don't have to answer, but we've made sure that you can choose as many answers to those questions as fit your self-identity. This is confidential data, which means that when we use it we won't use any information that could identify you. If you hate filling out forms and find this hard, feel free to get in touch and we're happy to call you and work through it with you over the phone instead - contact Jean on [email protected] or Tabby on 0273314507
