I was 10 when i realized something was "off". I didn't like guys but worse than that, I was starting puberty and was MISERABLE. Nothing felt right, it was this deep aching in my bones.
By 11, I already figured out I was trans and thought I was bisexual because "everyone kinda felt the same". I remembered a book with the word "homosexual" being burnt in a trashcan by my dad with my older sister crying when I was 9. I didn't dare tell him.
I told my mom when I was 12, since my dad left the picture. she didn't take that well, and thought i had dibbuk (a type of spiritual jewish posession by dark forces) and while i didn't really go thru conversion therapy, there was a definate attempt to "fix" me. I became suicidal.
I was DL in high school, I passed pretty well and no one really knew what "transgender" is. I was outed by the age of 14 and was attacked in the school bathroom.
When I was 15, I spent a year in a psych ward where I started coming out of my shell a bit, but ended up falling into a pretty bad crowed.
I left them by 17, but i was extremely lonely in a
When I turned 18, I left. Found a program to house trans people. Moved in with complete strangers. I thought my life was basically over and I was just bracing for death. I was denied HRT because of my disability, had no friends, and entered an abusive relationship.
I am almost 19. I have a job in my dream profession, I am best friends with my roommate, I left that abusice relationship, my physical condition got better so I'm starting HRT soon, and i finally had the space to realize im aro ace.
and I realized something important-
I want to live.
I always wanted to live. I wanted to live so much I thought I wanted to die, if that makes sense.
I just didn't live until very, very recently.
sounds like you had a lot to grapple with, but so glad things are getting better now - glad you're still here to share this with us :)

#cw. Warning: Scary pictures. Hello beautiful people, I hope y'all have had a great day. These are your queer siblings in Kenya once again looking for your support. The voiceless lgbtiqa refugees in Kenya going through torture and lives lost. We condemn these acts, laws and bills against lgbtiqa
Our houses were being set on a blaze and now looking for where to sleep. Are voices are not heard because Kenya does not allow gay marriage but instead the communities in Kenya keep fighting us and now they burnt down our homesteads. Our people were caught in the fire and are nursing wounds as y'all can see in the pictures below. For those that may want to donate, please donate below as we are looking forward to getting money so that we can enclose our community with a fence and limit such attacks. We are sure with one love plus solidarity we shall have peace for all queers everywhere.
We also struggle to get food as we are not allowed to work in any company or organisation due to our gender but instead the support we get from y'all keeps us satisfied with food and medicine. Please continue with that heart. Y’all should know that your donation counts a lot. If you can’t donate please share

Let's be one, let's transform lives of all queers
Hi, my name is Megan (she/her), and I'm fundraising on behalf of Ace (name … Megan Selander needs your support for Support LGBTQIA refugees
I want to thank Alice for this, in "sorry" it was the first time I've ever heard someone say the word "aromantic" in tv, it's something really important to me and generally to every heartstopper fan who's also part of the aro/ace community. It makes me so happy for this representation to also be made by my favorite author ever and someone who's also part of the community
I really really don't like transphobia coming from within the LGBTQ+ community itself.
