What if Ozpin grew close to a woman years ago and from this union came Taiyang? Only, Ozpin attempted to push her away from him so as to hopefully protect her from Salem and her agents. Ultimately, the plan would go horribly right, causing Ozpin to lose another person who made him as happy as Salem did (and possibly that one woman whom he had those two Silver-Eyed daughters (or possibly step-daughters)) and deprive him of the opportunity of being a father again.

Then, low and behold, someone who looks like and reminds him of that woman applies to Beacon Academy. Just taking one look at Taiyang makes him realize this is his son. While not intending to give him special treatment, Ozpin can't help but feel happy knowing his son is alive. And when his son's team sets records at Beacon Academy and becomes the best team in it's history, he can't help but feel the kind of pride a father feels for his kids and their success.
