Cellulose nitrate was used to make dice from the late 1860s until the middle of the twentieth century, and the material remains stable for decades. Then, in a flash, they can dramatically decompose. Nitric acid is released in a process called outgassing. The dice cleave, crumble, and then implode.

What makes a POISON-type trainer?
Overview and Stat Spread
There is no such thing as good or evil when it comes to one's innate nature. Even the ill-reputed DARK type is no less capable of choosing to do good than any other. While always worth keeping in mind than any pokemon can be used for good or evil, there are three types with a reputation that must be corrected for. The dark type, of course, and the closely-related GHOST type are obvious. The last of the trio, often used by assassins, hoodlums, and gang members, is the poison type.
Tied with the FIRE type for the seventh most common type among pokemon, the poison type is most known for its eponymous status condition. Interestingly, there are two variants of poisoning that can be inflicted on pokemon, which we'll discuss later. Both poison and STEEL types are immune to both poisons.
Poison type pokemon are weak to moves of the GROUND and PSYCHIC types, and poison type moves are strong against GRASS and FAIRY pokemon. Poison types have very balanced stats, with a slight weight towards Attack, Special Attack, and Special Defense.
Common Trainer Classes
As mentioned, many poison type trainers belong to the underbelly of society. Kanto, the only region where poison is the most common type, is also the birthplace of Ninjas. Due to the threat that poison type pokemon offer to humans, many of the world's villainous teams and lesser gang members frequently use these pokemon.
However, this is not the sum total of poison type pokemon - in fact, in addition to emitting poison, many poison type pokemon also absorb it! These pokemon are favorites for those who work in sewage treatment or janitorial work, as well as humans with sensitivity to air pollution. In some cities, there have been programs to introduce poison type pokemon in coordinated sanitation efforts!
Gym Leaders & Notable Trainers
While not always the case, famous poison type trainers often have somewhat unpleasant personalities. Kanto's Koga, who has also been a member of the elite four, often says he gravitated towards poison type pokemon because he appreciates the despair and horror that they inflict on opponents. Unova's Roxie often challenges trainers to 3 v 6 battles, thrashing the uphill battle with superior tactics and ending countless pokemon journeys. A notable example is Galar's Klara, a failed pop-singer turned gym leader after being embroiled in multiple scandals regarding sabotage, photo manipulation, and recordings of her foul language when the cameras aren't rolling. Strangely enough, each scandal only seems to increase her extremely odd fanbase.
Common Pokemon
Poison type pokemon are some of the most common pests across the world. While often turned to good use, pokemon like Koffing and Grimer can turn heavily polluted areas from unhealthy to death traps. Once these pokemon start appearing in cities, they become harder and harder to clean, and the emergence of a Muk often requires the intervention of the pokemon rangers or a gym leader. In less populated areas, unprepared trainers can run afoul of Ekans or any of the Nidoran line, and some pokemon journeys end before they can begin. While many rare and powerful pokemon live in various cave systems, many, many more trainers give up on searching after getting swarmed by Zubat. Poison type pokemon, though rarely the apex predator of their enviornment, have carved out a very dangerous niche for themselves.
Legendary Pokemon
Poison type legendaries are extremely rare, with only five currently known. Of these, the most dangerous is Eternatus, an extra-terrestial pokemon responsible for Galar's dynamax phenomenon. Eternatus' poison is known to be capable of altering people's personalities, though the full extent of these abilities has not been fully explored.
There's also the Paldean mythic pokemon Pecharunt, a pokemon simultaneously terrifying powerful and incredibly cowardly. Pecharunt is responsible for creating at least three legendary pokemon; Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. With its toxic chains and the mochi its capable of creating, it can control humans and pokemon alike - drawing out their greed and hidden desires and turning them to its will. It is known to feign tears in order to evoke sympathy.
Moves
Poison type moves largely center around inflicting poison or its more intense form. Poisoned pokemon take damage over time until fainting, while badly poisoned pokemon take more damage with every passing turn. In addition to the many, many moves capable of inflicting poison like Poison Fang, Poison Jab, Sludge Wave, Sludge Bomb, Dire Claw, etc, some moves also interact with poison in unique ways. The move Venoshock doubles in power when used against poisoned pokemon, making it a favorite for poison types without the patience to wait.
There are also a high number of non-damaging poison type moves. While many of these simply inflict poison to do damage later, like Toxic, there are always more unique effects. Corrosive Gas can melt held items, Gastro Acid can disable a pokemon's ability, and the water type pokemon Pyukumuku has a unique poison type move called Purify which it can use to heal others.
Abilities
One of the most unique abilities regarding the poison type is Corrosion, possessed only by the Salandit and Glimmet lines. It allows the holder to poison pokemon that should be immune, like steel types or other poison types. There's also the ability Liquid Ooze, which damages an opponent who attempts to use HP-draining moves on the poison type pokemon, and Stench, which causes the pokemon to give off a bad smell that may cause its opponent to flinch.
Conclusion
While poison type pokemon and trainers are not evil, regrettably, their poor reputation has been somewhat well earned. The poison type is extremely well suited for an extremely aggravating style of battle. Moves like Toxic Spikes, Corrosive Gas, and Gastro Acid allow these pokemon to shut down various aspects of their opponents strategy, and moves like Coil, Acid Armor, and Baneful Bunker can stall out a fight while the opponent slowly withers away from toxins. After experiencing the dominating, control strategy of an experienced poison type trainer, many less strategically minded trainers give up on competitive battling entirely.
As one might expect, many poison type trainers are, if not outright malicious, somewhat ill-natured. Many are brusque, brutal, and mocking. Even the nicest poison type trainer likely has a sadistic streak that they channel into a productive endeavor. It is worth stating once again that none of this makes poison types evil, or should reflect poorly on poison type trainers. While it's true that they are brutal opponents, they can be the most reliable allies around when that toxicity is pointed elsewhere. At their best, these poison type specialists intimately understand suffering, and know best how to sympathize or comfort those around them. They choose to exercise kindness, despite knowing how easy it would be to cause harm. At their worst, however, these trainers can revel in cruelty, enjoying the pain they can cause in others.
