Every time there's royal trio merch the usual suspects get up in arms but like... how is it Akechi and Sumire's fault that they're popular? I adore Shujin trio too but unfortunately Ryuji isn't popular in Japan so they're not gonna do many merch lines involving him. Yusuke, Futaba, and Haru get neglected too because the devs didn't put them in any neatly defined sub-group along with Joker. Merch collabs want both popular characters and recognizable groupings. This is how it goes in every fandom, im just grateful the Royal Trio characters are all worthy of their popularity

Vanilla Thieves enjoyers get multiple spin offs with the original 8 as main characters (Strikers, Tactica) while Akechi + Sumire are either absent or DLC exclusive, yet they still complain about merch lines and collabs. I'm just salty that Atlus milks those characters in every way except actually making a game centered on Royal Trio. That'd be easy money, just saying...

I noticed when the overwatch collab was released featuring some of the thieves, royal trio fans didn’t even give much of a peep and some of the akechi fans i know played it for the love of the game

If we’re going to have the rumored Fortnite collab and will only feature shujin trio + makoto with no sumi or akechi, royal trio fans will just bear with it just like they did with strikers and tactica and other big-game collabs

Royal trio (and maruki) fans are just happy to get these merch and i just don’t get why some people are so salty about it.
