Inspired by Toonsnooper's video series, here's my take on where a few OP characters would have their gems! (It takes so little for me to fall back into old hyperfixations...😅)
Law - A true forehead gem.
You can't find reasons for another person's love. But Law functions better with facts, without spontaneity, and has a hard time understanding emotions- so he's still going to try. He wants to go in with a plan and panics when control is lost. A career full of uncertainty may not have been his best choice...
Doflamingo - Located on his back, between his shoulders.
It signifies his focus on the past; what he lost, what he suffered through, and how he's always thinking of how to right those wrongs. But it also represents where he is now- never trusting, closed off, always watching his own back. He's always waiting to be betrayed. Doffy may be the family's backbone, but his acts in the world are best left unseen. Much like the gem itself.
Corazon - Navel placement.
Not just a fantastic pun! In his circles, Cora is always the most sensitive, caring person in the room. He's fiercely protective and willing to throw everything aside for someone in need —whether that manifests as saving Law or, on a larger scale, risking his life with the Marines. He's sometimes silly, a little childish, and often underestimated. But it should be known that he's always ready to use that perceived innocence, that soft exterior, against you.
Luffy - The quintessential chest gem.
Luffy is no hero. He helps not because it's the morally correct choice, or a tactical one that'll benefit him. Luffy decides to step in if he feels it'll make the people he loves happy. You can't persuade him to do anything that his heart doesn't believe to be the correct course of action. But that's not to say he isn't empathetic. Luffy's heart is wide open, and he's able to read the emotions of others with ease, cutting to the heart of issues. Sometimes these strong emotions can get him into trouble, but there's no force stronger than Luffy's will to see something through!
Sanji - (His) Left cheek.
Though he likes to play it cool, Sanji's an open book once you get to know him. His life has always been heavily influenced by how others see his emotions. Zeff saw his passion for the All Blue. Luffy saw his kindness towards Gin. Judge saw it as a weakness. But these emotions out on display are his greatest strength! Recalling those memories, those emotions, quite literally fuels his fire. His most tactical plays are always made in aid of others- even if it comes at the expense of himself.
Sanji is the only one here whose gem cut I can imagine as easily as its placement. A tear, hidden away under his fringe until after the timeskip. It gives him a wounded look, and god, has Sanji got a lot to be wounded about! Sanji is unlike Luffy in that he's still learning to listen, and to love those emotions. To let the tears run without shame.
Zoro - (His) Left eye.
Isn't the image of Zoro withdrawing his swords from his eye the coolest thing ever? For real though, Zoro may not take in directions well, but when it comes to people, he's incredibly observant. He cuts through bullshit like a hot knife, which is probably why he gets along with Nami so well. His feigned disinterest hides the ability to see through deception, to play along until the right moment.
Zoro watches over the crew, ever vigilant and protecting. He spots areas where he can ease the burden from others- whether that's on the battlefield or on a harsh trek. This is part of what makes him such a perfect fit at Luffy's side, who is far more impulsive. Just... Don't expect any emotional intelligence to make use of those observational skills.
