The miners have a saying, "if you aren't a girl when you enter, a few months of breathing the dust will change that" while proper respiratory equipment is mandatory, with everything it's not 100% perfect. The medics believe the primary cause is actually the dust mixing with sweat making the estrogen and progesterone readily absorb through the skin
