so when each of the other girls find themselves occupied with something else and slowly leave the table one by one, she finds herself doing the same, gathering enough courage to rise from her place and slowly make her way over to where he was standing. and there’s a part of her mind that wanders to the similarities of this situation to one in the past, one that didn’t end up working out all that well in the long run with an object of her affection, but sian says this time it’s different. for one, she truly has no idea who the man is ( and therefore can’t put him upon a pedestal ), two, she’s not drunk, not even really tipsy, but she has had some drinks in her system which is propelling her confidence; and three — my god, he’s even more striking up close. the smaller can’t help the way the grin spreads across her face once she’s in front of him, hands smoothing off the wrinkles in her ballgown, and she can only hope that she isn’t appearing creepy.
“hi there,” she greets, voice subdued at first, rising after she clears her throat lightly, “i couldn’t help but notice that you’ve been in that spot alone for a bit now. are you not having a good time, maybe? or are you waiting for someone?” she questions, eyes darting back and forth in wonder. you’re too handsome to be alone, she wants to say, but she tries for something else, “you should liven up! have some fun!”
being a wallflower meant usually that iseul liked not being at the forefront of things, despite what others might think of him as a cinth, and as someone in particular--with his type of face. in contrary, he rather liked putting himself out of harms way, whether it be with girls or with parties, and simply...to observe things around him that happens. he’s not usually the center of attention, having managed to mask himself over years of practice till no one really notices him..or so he thinks.
so when a extra pretty girl comes and says hello, the first thing he does is to stare, feeling his face turn red at the attention, before ducking his head slightly and shaking his head softly to answer her question.
“ its quite alright. i just like...” being a wallflower. his eyes flicker momentarily, flitting from her features to the rest of the crowd, teeth sinking into his bottom lip a little nervously as he contemplated what exactly to answer. “being alone.” an awkward laugh makes up a little for the space between them, and iseul curses lightly under his breath, knowing that he probably messed up introductions in this split moment of being utterly awkward.
he offers her a slight smile, eyes creasing and lips tugging as he watched her with soft hazel eyes, letting a breath sink into his chest.
“i don’t have many friends, so thats why i don’t really..really like being at parties. i was just dragged here because well..i’m a cinth.” he’s almost sheepish as he admits to everything, muscles relaxing as he gently let his guard down, a little chuckle passing through his lips. “but i guess i could very well try, if you know, you show me around.” he squinted his eyes slightly, utterly embarrassed now. “ after all, i’ve never really explored parties and all the fun it entails in detail. i haven’t even tried much of drinking.” his lips curl slightly as he watches her with equal parts of slight fascination and amusement, allowing himself to move away from the walls to interact with another for once--a rare choice that he consciously makes for once. “i’m iseul by the way.” he leans forward slightly, inclining his head slightly in what seemed like a slight bow of politeness. “koo iseul. its nice to meet you, and i’m quite surprised, since i thought i hid myself so well.”
