Sorry for the teeny posts here but I want to get this idea onto "paper" before I lose it.

I normally have very little buildup. Usually the tickle comes fast and hard, and I just take my one breath and sneeze.

Sometimes, the tickle burns slow, and I can feel the itch going for at least several minutes before it makes me actually sneeze. But again, almost no buildup.

But just now, I had an actual hitching buildup. Goodness. Two little gasps and even some vocal involvement. I don't think I could recreate it if I tried! I wonder how that even happens

If you know my other online haunts you can find a sketch sequence I drew of one of my side characters sneezing while demonstrating a penetrable toy and the anatomy and positioning are a bit rough but I'm still glad I tried 😳

Here's my half of an art trade with @tobeast252 featuring two of their characters, Nolan and Lesnar.

It was a lot of fun to experiment with depicting different materials in monochrome, I certainly probably did a bit too much on those droplets. I guess I will have to tag this with mess. People who hate mess uhhh why do you follow me lmao

That first page was a lot of fun I think i cribbed a little bit of the paneling from the first volume or so of kodoch/a and it was an excuse to draw architecture. It came out pretty decent I think.

Also loooove that anteater/walrus screentone I just have now. I don't know where else I would use it but I'm glad its in my toolkit now.

Lots of fun with lettering. All in all a very fun experiment. I really should go back to doing comics again. Although the next thing in the pipeline will be quite a bit grungier and less manga influenced. Maybe I'll try to go for faking ink wash with digital tools? we'll see.

I feel very... "Dated" these days. Woof.

Just saw the slew of llm-backed chatbots and the various websites that host them. They've got lil generated pictures to match them, and my first thought was "Why do they all look Like That?" That... Lidded-eye and sinewy-neck and dog-tried-to-eat-a-bee look. I'm very curious as to what these things latch onto as "desirable," but that's a new topic for a new day.

Anyway, I swear I'm not that actually out of touch with things!!! I just... Never really looked in that corner of the internet before.

Short thought: Yucca saying "now, don't sneeze" before doing something extremely tickly to a dragon's nose

Yucca is a herbalist/apothecary with some minor physician duties, so he likely has isolated cases in which he must do these sorts of things.

But maybe one day, he collaborates with a more research-oriented type who wants to study upper respiratory functions. And so, he ends up having to develop and use standardized induction techniques to study the... Frequency, force, and propensity to sneeze.

Apologies! I have been around for quite a while, but my online presence comes and goes. I did have a blog here some time ago (maybe c. 12 years ago, even under the same handle, I think) but it has since been deactivated. I think I pulled it some time in 2019-2021?

Wow, that long??

For a while I used different names, for some reason. I think I just thought I was being cute, who knows. 'Alrek' (from a random name picker) and 'Muscovy' (like the big duck) have stuck the most. Now I just keep 'Alrek' because it's simpler.

But, it could very well be that you're thinking of someone else! A lot of the elements of my little sketches get carried forward by other artists with real skill, so there are many parallel themes going on. Which is the beauty of art communities, I think!

(Also, I will not claim to have "invented" or "started" any of these ideas, which imo is impossible. Just that we collectively influence each other. Despite my reclusivity, I won't deny that I am connected to the other snz-artists!)

Was there something specific you wanted to see from me, to confirm your hunch?

I won't post it here because

1. I think it was kinda poorly drawn, and I'm embarrassed.

Just to clarify, my partner knows about the kink but we don't really do anything with it together.

It's definitely totally completely a fantasy only thing for me

Handling spices and I accidentally throw some ground white pepper into the air. For some reason, white pepper is way more tickly to my nose than black pepper.

Anyway, it works instantly. And I think I might be coming down with a lil cold or something (nose and throat are a bit bunged feeling). It makes me sneeze, twice.

Partner calls from the next room over, "hey, that sneeze doesn't sound normal, you feeling sick?"

Heartbreaking: the sound of my partner's allergic sniffling and sneezing is actually making me very irritated and upset.

I don't think I have "proper" misophonia but the sound is incredibly upsetting and makes me want to shout!
