I know people call each other pretentious for talking about "Tumblr etiquette" but you've gotta understand that it's not a Tumblr versus Twitter superiority thing (not generally, at least) it's just about fandom spaces versus creator engagement. Tumblr is a self-governing entity; we solve problems on our own, we have well-developed practices and courtesies, we've figured out what works and what doesn't. And while I stand by the fact that you shouldn't be cruel or strange on the internet because "they'll never see" (they probably will) I also think those independent fandom spaces are super important. Usually the fandom as a whole is pretty independent, but it's a little different when it comes to real people. That's why some Twitch streamers are freaked out by groups of people who talk a lot about them: they just don't get it, they think it's over-the-top when that's literally what a fandom is. So while obviously ccs are allowed to do as they like and I wish them a good time around here, I do worry about things like them getting invested in a situation that has nothing to do with them + we would've resolved privately or wanting things a certain way when that's not the point of fan spaces.

dream being the golden boy everywhere he goes: youtube making sure to boast about his achievements for his end of the year awards; among us lobbies making sure he plays through every game, praises him for his amazing plays and laughs at his laugh (killing him first because he’s too good at the game); dream bringing life to the dsmp whenever he joins the server to either gamble or help push lore forward; making his grand entrances every time he joins in the middle of a stream… literal protagonist energy.

why are you guys unfollowing me im right. we are in the middle of a global pandemic, at the height of cases and hospitalization in the us. we are dealing with 2 dangerous and highly contagious variants. but that just gets forgotten in order to congratulate streamers for taking planes to travel cross country or internationally despite the fact that their job is the epitome of one that can be done from safely at home.
