The way I’m just so obsessed with this shot.

The casualness? They haven’t seen each other in 133 years and Hob was so sure that Dream would come back eventually that he (presumably) opened a new tavern and spray painted signs for it at the old one. They just greet each other and smile and go through the apologies.

The comfort? They are clearly comfortable with each other despite not being physically close at all. Their feet are planted, mirroring each other. They are both in states of relaxation, Hob leaning back against the booth and Dream sitting back against the seat rather than leaning forward like he’s going to leave any second.

The hands? Both of them containing themselves. Hob clasping his hands together. Dream hiding his hands in his pockets. As if they’re trying to stop themselves from reaching out to the other.

The eyes? The way Hob stares straight on, eyes lifted through the lashes all soft and pleased that his friend is there. The way Dream is staring back in that way of his that makes him look like he’s trying to acknowledge that he’s better but he’s holding the eye contact. Electric.

The little smiles? Hob smiles big all the time, he smiles big when he first sees Dream but he keeps smiling this small pleased smile like it’s the happiest he’s been just to be around Dream. Dream scowls a lot in the show, I saw him smile so so much in just this episode and nearly all of those smiles were for Hob including this one. He was so pleased that Hob waited for him.
