metal sonic’s and sage’s treatment by eggman are the kind of abuse that isn’t obvious with people not believing it is abuse
people don’t think metal sonic is being abused by eggman just because metal sonic is a killer robot that done harm and evil things aka he’s not the perfect innocent abuse victim and simply because he’s a scary looking robot, if eggman treats a character like say similar to cream the same way he does to metal sonic, it would been seen and treated as absolutely horrific of what he done to that poor innocent cute character both in and out of universe but since metal sonic’s a scary killer robot, it’s just brushed off and ignored
sage getting treated nicely by eggman fools folks both in and out of universe (blaze in crossworlds think there’s good eggman when she interacts with sage) in that their relationship is totally fine healthy good but if you actually inspect their relationship then it’s clear a child like sage shouldn’t be treated like that by grown ass middle aged man in eggman at all
eggman is stated to be “under 50 years old” meaning he’s middle aged in his 30s-40s thus with that sonic channel art again of sage chastising him to eat healthier means this grown ass middle aged man needs to rely on a child ai to tell him to eat his damn veggies

Maybe I should make a post about Metal and Eggman the same way I've done with Eggman and Sage... Because the evidence of abuse with Metal is SO. SO painfully obvious and so clearly there but it's so scattered all across the media. Like, shit, I can understand how people see Eggman and Sage's relationship as cute, as you've said, even in universe the characters get fooled into thinking that, but mf Eggman is publicly HORRIBLE to Metal. Oh but because Metal is also not a good person he's not allowed to be a victim! Give me a break...
