Summary of this volume:

Aziraphale is a trained warrior that slays monsters. A prophecy says he will once be killed by a monster, but he never has failed a task. He’s summoned by the high priest, and receives the mission to end another one – he vows to protect the land and to kill the monster that endangers the people — who will be revealed to be Crowley. Aziraphale understands during his time out in the monster’s area that Crowley was simply a thorn into the monarch’s foot, and that Aziraphale had been sent as a mercenary, not as a protector. He understands that Crowley is not the monster, but actually the saviour of the area.

Stuck in the moment that everything still existed, the last light beam enveloped Crawly on her journey. It was a perfect picture, a memory that she would have to endure — maybe cherish — until the last second, until her back would hit the ground, until her skin burned in the flames; the moment right before she had swallowed all life, the moment before she had suffocated light and made it cease to exist.

Aziraphale inhaled, and then exhaled slowly just as the first rays of light broke over the eastern horizon. With his next breath he began a series of slow morning stretches, designed to awaken his body and tether him to the ground beneath his feet and the light filling the sky. He moved from one form to the next with an ease that belied the strength it took to hold each position: holding his arms upwards while standing on one leg, bending slowly downwards until his hands rested flat on the ground, sinking himself fully into a plank position, and arching his back upwards to open his bare chest. As sunrays chased the morning clouds, arms extended wide with knees bent in reverence, he twisted his body so one forearm rested on his knee while he reached the other high above his head and breathed out deeply. Returning again to stand upright on the other leg, he would repeat the sequence until his muscles no longer burned with the morning stretch. He matched his breath to his movements, inhaling as he pulled his body inwards and exhaling as he opened his movements.
