Summary: Leon Draisaitl is the only wolf in the NHL, and he keeps both sides of these life as separate as he can. But then at the All Star Game in Florida, the two accidentally... interject. Not that Matthew Tkachuk has any idea what he's done.
AN: Maybe all of the excitement persuaded me to post the first part of this. Just mayyyyyybe. That and the amazing @sequestering helping me out by reading this whole WIP and helping me with pace and my shit self-esteem...
"Draisaitl?" Tkachuk's done rubbing at his eyes. "What the fuck?"
That's about how Leon feels, and he's seconds from sniping back, when he sniffs out some dried blood in the room, seeing a small darker spot on Tkachuk's pillow that must be the source of it. Leon breathes in sharply through his nose, trying to figure out if Tkachuk hurt himself somehow, but there is no fresh blood in the air.
Must be something as stupid as Tkachuk, then.
"I don't fucking know," Leon rumbles.
Tkachuk flops back onto the pillow. "My head is killing me. My neck hurts. I'm more tired now than I've been after playing playoff OT. What the fuck happened last night?"
Sounds like a Tkachuk problem. Leon isn't tired at all, and other than the random fucking hangover, he's feeling pretty decent. There is no buzz under his skin demanding that he shifts right this fucking instant, his energy levels feel pretty normal, and there is no part of his body demanding his particular attention. His ankle is fine, his knee is good… No worries.
Clearly nothing of consequence happened last night.
