I truly truly believe that the most important thing you can do in fandom is be a cheerleader. comment on fics. reblog art and rave in the tags. support the people making the things you want to see. this is how you keep a fandom alive. this is how you get more of what you want. you never know: that person could have decided to make more just because you liked it.
Ormund x reader fanfics r so fucking funny to me. Like what the fuck is y/n gonna do when she finds out he's sleeping with his male cousin and abusing his nephewson? There's no divorce in Westeros so I presume we're gonna have to go Daemon Targaryen on his ass with a rock
CANON
not one encouraging name in sight anywhere.......

i think you guys need to go back to consuming art for the art’s sake rather than for the sake of the review you’re going to post on the internet later
who needs a social life when you have followers who don’t talk to you and you run a blog no one cares about
never stop posting your opinions on things like even the most random little things bc i literally love reading them. somehow i almost always agree like i don’t think theres been a time where you’ve talked about something and i haven’t been like woah you just phrased exactly what was going on in my mind so articulately.
i just wanted to share my appreciation because i don’t usually send many asks i just scroll and read most of the time. im a big fan of RoR btw it gives actual chills and you captured their characters so canonically that i sometimes mix up parts of your storyline with the actual series plot lol
Oh, don't you worry friend, I got plany of opinions (though I don't know if tumblr can handle my strongest opinions. my strongest opinions aren't fit for a beast, let alone a man etc)
As far as I'm concerned, having discussions and connecting over stories and fandom (and beyond) is the literal point of this website. This is where I come to share my thoughts and to hear what others have to say about the art that matters to me. I don't often have those in-depth conversations in real life because those just aren't really the kinds of circles that I'm in, so this space is really invaluable for me.
I get to share and experience perspectives here that I don't really see elsewhere and I think it's the semi-anonymous voice of the small blogger (such as myself) that keeps this website feeling human even after all the other social media platforms have become completely uninhabitable for me. (This stands for most areas excluding animal rights, a cause about which this website is living in the stone age, but I'm trying to drum up some more positivity around that too and I know there are many other who feel the same so I have hope)
As for RoR, thank you so much for letting me know that you liked it! (though maybe 'liked' isn't the right word. You got it, that's what matters really). It means a lot to me to know that RoR touches people, and I know I say it all the time but that's because it's true. Making and posting art is a very vulnerable place to be in (especially something like this) and I feel so lucky that RoR has found a thoughtful and supportive audience who want to engage deeply with the subject matter. It feels dramatic to say that that story and characters really took over my existence while I was writing it but that was how it felt and handing characters that you feel so strongly about (and who are at times very morally grey) over to strangers on the internet is fucking scary. Luckily the response has been overwhelmingly sensitive and full of empathy, which is amazing. Of course I'm going to want to connect with the people who connect with my writing, those are my people and that's what life is about!

this is literally gay 9/11
Genuinely how do you respond to every single one of your asks? Don’t some of them kind of annoy you to answer? Like I would probably ignore so many of them if I got irritating questions I don’t want to answer but maybe that’s just me. Also, has an anon ever ruined your day with their ask? What would you say are the worst ones you’ve gotten?
(Technically I don’t know if you respond to all of them but you’ve responded to all of mine so I’m just assuming lol)
I mean... I don't really get that many, I'm really not like... famous at all, and when I do get asks they're usually clustered around particular fic uploads and I'm generally quite happy to talk about my work cus I put so much time and effort in and it's nice to know that people are interested (more than nice actually, its sort of what writers live for).
The amount of asks that I've had over the last few weeks is also defo not the usual, I can usually go weeks (or months!) without getting one very easily. As I say, I'm not a big blog at all, and most of the spaces I'm in are pretty niche
I also only answer asks that I think are in good faith. I've only had a few that I've ignored over the years. Generally, I've been lucky, I guess. There was one about my fic and HOTD yesterday that I didn't like the tone of, so I've deleted that one, and also a couple others still in my inbox, but other than that people are usually nice and have interesting comments and questions
The only really bad one I ever got was when someone tried to accuse me of being anti-semitic over an analysis post I wrote about how many Dune characters have red hair (????), but that's really it for overt hostility. I guess I'm just unproblematic and universally adored
I just like to have a natter over here on my little corner of the internet so I generally jump at the chance to do it if someone has asked (helps that I've been on uni holidays too tbf). It's not a chore. It's nice to feel like you're connecting with people, especially if it's about something you care about
