Then I recommend factbooking!

Factbooking, which is just a funky term I came up with, essentially is just collecting canon information about your F/Os! By collecting as much canon information as possible, you can feel as if you're doing that "something" for your fictional lover, and you can do it as cute as you want!

Make a pretty, aesthetic carrd or rentry, and fill it with links or beautiful images/gifs! Buy a pretty notebook and some stickers that reminds you of/is of your F/O, and handwrite the information!

Use bullet points! Links to playlists! Colored ink! Anything you want!

Even add a section for your own headcanons if you wish to!

Add their likes and dislikes, their height and weight, family situation, birthday, zodiac, blood type, themes and symbolism, anything that canon has to offer you about them!

If you're someone who's a bit of a stickler about canon, this can help you keep up on knowing everything about your F/O as canon as possible and be good reference! If you're someone who likes to diverge, this can be a good reference for what to bend to your whims!

You don't need to be "good" or "bad" at anything to factbook! Just having the dedication to collect as much canon information as possible is just like writing a beloved fanfic or creating beautiful art!

While it isn't for everyone, I definitely recommend factbooking. It can make you feel like you're really understanding your F/O on a deeper level, and you may realize some things you never noticed about your F/O before.

Stopping to get gas & loads of snacks.

You’re in the passenger seat with a blanket and book. Your f/o lets you have sole responsibility of the music/radio station.

Your f/o likes to rest their hand on your knee as they drive. Their fingers slowly creeping further up your thigh, causing your heart to kick harder.

While driving, your f/o lovingly glances at you from time to time. They love how you concentrate on the words in the book, or how you drum your fingers on the window to the beat of the music.

Your f/o looks so tempting as they drive, that you have to keep stopping just to make out.

Sharing spooky stories as it begins to get dark.

Pulling over to stargaze and cuddle.

Checking into the nearest hotel when you both begin to feel sleepy.

Ordering everything on the food service menu just to try it all out.

Taking Polaroids throughout the road trip, creating favourite memories.

Playing mixtapes on the stereo or your Spotify playlist you created specifically for this occasion. 

Getting up with the birds just to watch the sunrise together.

Dramatic Villain F/Os who yell at their subordinates INCLUDING YOU so everyone is catching hands.

Dramatic Villain F/Os who go to you to vent all their frustrations for hours and will actively make you sit down if you try leaving before they're done talking.

Dramatic Villain F/Os who use their hands a lot while talking, so you have to duck and dodge while they're going off on whatever tangent they're on.

Dramatic Villain F/Os who are so caught up in their genius that you're the only one who can decode what they're saying whenever no one can understand what they're on about.

Dramatic Villain F/Os who are on the very cusp of world shattering victory, but suddenly stop everything because they realize you're not there to witness it. Absolutely WILL send all their underlings to bring you so they can continue with their evil evil victory.

Dramatic Villain F/Os that even though you are the bane of their mental stability and the worst subordinate they've ever had, if anything ever happened to you then they would kill everyone.

Shippers with older F/Os? They LOVE you. The gap in your ages doesn't bother them. They see you as an equal. An adult. An ally. They see you for your personality and your smile. They don't let the comments of others bother them. They don't care what anyone thinks about some arbitrary "power dynamic" baloney. They laugh at the people who claim your relationship is suspicious. They roll their eyes when someone calls them a "cradle robber". They know better. They know that you love them enough to tell them if you are uncomfortable- and that's all they care about. Your comfort. Not that of some whiner who can't see the happiness you bring to one another.

They love you.

They may have been on this planet longer than you, but that just means they had more time to think about who to spend their years with. And they chose you. Because you are worth it. You were worth the wait. And they've never once been happier, in their entire lives.

f/os who you cant really apply soft imagines to. Ones that you have a hard time hearing soft words in their voice. Ones who don't really have that soft, fluffy type of love language.

They have other ways of showing they love you outside of that movie-esque, fluffy type of romance! Maybe it's more casual, maybe its a kind only you two understand. anyways it is, they love you nonetheless! remember that!

Your f/o encouraging you to eat when you forget to have a meal. Perhaps you're so run off your feet that food just slips your mind. They make sure to gently remind you and show up with sandwiches or whatever you like to eat.

Attending a big event that your f/o happens to be invited to. The two of you hit it off immediately. At some point during the evening they take your arm and tell you they're in dire need of someone to talk to outside.
