Having a complex dissociative disorder (…are there noncomplex dissociative disorders?) while also having a strong imagination and while also ALSO experiencing the neurodivergent coping phenom of The Character is fun because like I'll "see" someone (who isn't actually there; very obviously some internal "mind is projecting things into the external world" stuff) trying to get me to do good/important/necessary things for me/the body and I just have to wonder… are they The Character coping mechanism, another in the system that I haven't seen/met, or just an imaginary friend..?
And of course it can be argued that The Character IS an imaginary friend… and if you're not careful, The Character can become a part of the system…
