> I keep pairing my mii and main f/o together to hang out until they crush on eachother and fell in love
> One day I open the game, and s/i tells me that they think things aren't working out with f/o. I tell em to talk it out with him to see if they can fix it.
> My mii goes to talk to him and it played a cutscene where s/i looked sad and unsure of what to say, so they tried to speak but the words wouldn't come out. They shook their head, looking away from f/o, and he silently understood. They stayed in silence, looking at eachother in sadness for a while.
> Cutscene ends and S/I is on their house, really sad saying "I guess we just couldn't work things out." So I had to try and cheer em up afterwards. Meanwhile my f/o seemed fine for the most part. On both of their relationship status is said "ex sweethearts, no hard feelings."
> I thought I would be able to make em hang out again asap and they'd be friends, but I was wrong! When I tried to, s/i would run away before he'd notice and they would hide from him, with a text saying "things are still awkward between them". WHICH TBH IT IS SOMETHING I WOULD DO.
> I go "well, surely if I make my f/o start the interaction, it will do something right?!" Wrong! My f/o would also walk away and stare at s/i from afar, with the text "things are still awkward between them"
> Despite this, I keep trying to push em to interact, and it queued a cutscene where s/i was staring from behind a tree, and when f/o looked back, they tried to run away but fell! Then f/o went to help em back up and asked em if they where alright. S/I stared back at him for a while, and accepted his help, and gave him thanks. Which changed their relationship status to "willing to try again."
> Yet, the avoiding interactions and awkwardness kept persisting. So the only ways I could get them to interact was when one of them had a problem and I'd send the other their way to help out, which they would always do, albeit with a "I know this is awkward, but can you help me out?" Dialogue.
> After enough of these, and many "things are still awkward between them so they don't wanna talk rn", I finally triggered a cutscene where s/i stared at f/o from behind, and said along the lines of
S/I: It's been a long time since we've talked like this"
F/O: Yeah... it has been.
S/I: Do you think maybe... we could patch things up and be friends again?
F/O: ....I would like that. Talking to you like this feels like old times. So- what have you been up to-
> and they proceeded to walk around together and chat, with their relationship changing to "good friends"
> now after a few days they're back to crushing on eachother but none have said anything yet
This whole saga happened in the span of 3 days and I got emotional cuz this is something I could see my main selfship going through. I love slow burn and realism, so I'm glad my selfship went through this route and not a perfect, fastly falling in love story.
I ended up sending this whole thing to my friend in audio form and the response I got afterward was a "ykw? I wasn't sure if I wanted to get this game or not, but this great story single handedly convinced me to get it once I get my next paycheck" 😭
