The thing about Fairy tales is our fundamental faith that love is our salvation. It can transform us no matter how far away from humanity we have shaped ourselves into (Beauty and the Beast).
No matter how much we reject it and run from it, it will look for us, choose us, and not rest till we're in its arms (Cinderella).
If demons oppress us -- depression, grief, loneliness, anxiety, trauma -- it'll fight for us and bring us back (Sleeping Beauty).
Even if we've been hounded and bullied, tormented, tortured, and been broken so badly that we're at death's door, it'll come to revive us and bring us back to Life (Snow White).
Because inherently we're all lovable.
That's the truth we hold on to in the deepest recesses of our pyche: We are love. And it's only momentary that we've been confused from our true nature. But, love is here.
Somewhere in me is love, and somewhere in you there is love, and somewhere in everything there is love. And we hope and pray and try again today -- today, love will find me.
It'll burst forth from my heart or trickle in through the sky or take the shape of a person, a dog, a spirit, of God. It'll find me, I'll find it, and I'll be whole again.
And even when everything ends, and the last tremolo of the last note falls silent, the love will still endure.
So, I sit here and and keep trying and keep waiting, because at some point the pain has to crack. The suffering has to end.
And love, i believe, will wash through me.
