I’m not too sure if everyone knows this or not, but I’m currently working on my own independent children’s book series called Seany Poo. The story centers around a creative 8 year old boy named Seany Poo, and his top secret creation, Fugi the robot. Together, they’ll find themselves in all sorts of odd situations that turn into exciting adventures. They will face the mad scientist, Dr. Churro, and his evil creations, or they might play some pranks on good ol’ Seany Poo’s dad.
Believe it or not, I struggled most of my life with not believing in myself. I had a low self-esteem, and I really didn’t think too highly of myself. When my father died, that all had to change. I had to learn that I needed to become my own cheerleader, pump myself up, and follow my dreams without his physical presence. During that lesson, I also discovered just how crucial it is to have self-confidence and a strong belief in oneself. Once I obtained a level of self-confidence, everything began to positively shift for me. Not only have I grown, but so has my project!
I recently just finished the first draft of book 1 and, even though I know there’s many more drafts to come, I’m super excited. I have even shared my project with some of my students. Their response has given me validation that I’m on the right track, and I really cannot wait until I get to share this book with the world!
For anyone out there struggling with self belief, please remember to keep your heads up. Keep dreaming. Keep your minds positive. When you wake up, strive to put on a smile and think about how thankful you are to begin a new day filled with new experiences and new opportunities. Go through your days wearing that smile with the confidence that you can do anything. The world truly is yours! The catch is, you need to figure out how to get it. You have to learn how to obtain your hopes and dreams. I can tell you from experience that once you’ve found your confidence, opportunities will come. Just remember to believe and keep moving forward.
Keep Dreaming. Keep Learning. Keep Smiling.
