history is fucked up and it sucks because all the people in it who had great viable werewolf names weren’t werewolves. like what the shit. if you knew nothing about history or literature i guess or whatever you’d see names like “virginia woolf” and “oscar wilde” and be like. ah yes. these are definitely some prime secret werewolf poorly masquerading as human intellectual situations? but neither of those people were real live werewolves, factually speaking? they did not take advantage of that opportunity. and i think we are all worse off for it actually

So I just got a really low mark for an essay that’s worth 80% of the module and it brought my average way down for semester 1 :( literally don’t know what’s happening. Last year I was getting 75-78 on my essays, this year I’m getting 52-58. I literally haven’t changed, I don’t understand why this is happening :(
Hey, I know it feels really bad when you get a low grade and don’t know why, but first take a deep breath and just remember that you’re doing absolutely great balancing everything with your uni life anyway. Now try and make an appointment to see your personal tutor (if you have one) or you teacher and ask if they can go through that particular essay with you. Even if you can’t redo it, it’ll help you learn where you might be going wrong. Don’t panic about your final grade, most U.K. Universities allow you to disregard your two lowest module marks in years two and three so that they won’t account to what you finally graduate with. Also, if you’ve previously done well on essays but are struggling now, try and see if there’s any changes in your life recently. Have the style of essays changed? Have you missed any lessons? Any external stressors in your life? (Planning a wedding is definitely one!) Has your diet changed at all? Sleep pattern? Have a look through the essays you’ve previously done well on and compare them with your recent ones. If, excluding the actual content of the essay, you can spot some differences in structure or grammar etc, then maybe just brush up on some of that. If it’s definitely the content then take a look at what you can do for future modules that may contain the same information and how you can revise that for them.
The most important thing is just to breathe though, it sucks, but it’s something you can work through and still achieve highly on elsewhere. Take a little look at how great you’re doing overall and accept that it’s okay to have bad days sometimes. Sending you love 🌱
Oh my goodness I love you. Thank you so, so much! I hope my uni lets me disregard my two lowest marks, that would be amazing!!! I’ll speak to my personal tutor and find out. Thank you beautiful xxx
Glad I could help lovely! I know my uni allows that and from what I've heard most of my friends do, although it can be subjective to course there's no harm in finding out! Hope you can get back on track soon 😊 xxx

New comic! (link)
This comic references tropes in post-apocalyptic fiction, including sexual assault.
I’ve been reading a lot of apocalyptic fiction. Did you know that it’s possible to write about danger and the destruction of society without constantly subjecting female characters to sexual violence? Yeah? Maybe someone should let some authors know about that.
If the apocalypse is just grimly competent men shepherding vaguely protesting women around while thinking manly grim thoughts, count me out, I’d rather be part of the first wave.
The Craft (1996)
Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made, or by dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly; your wholeness when you are broken; your innocence when you feel guilty; and your purpose when you are confused.
