i hate that everything is rent. not just houses and apartments and homes. in order to watch your shows you rent the streaming service every month. maybe you only want to watch one show on the platform. you have to pay for the whole platform for as long as you want to watch the show. most of them are never released physically so that you can keep them and watch them and OWN them forever. same thing with music apps. you are renting the ability to listen to music at will without being advertised to. most artists still release their music on CDs or vinyl but what if you want to listen to it on the go while walking and you just want to shuffle all your shit at once or listen to a very specific song. those portable CD players are hard to come by nowadays. and games. you aren't buying a copy of the game that you own. you are buying a copy of a license that the developer can revoke at any time as outlined in their terms of use. you rent the ability to play it online with your friends. it doesn't exist in real life anymore. Everything is a subscription everything is rented can we please blow up the fucking earth
