Schultz' Workshop

In the few days leading up to his art show in Martinez last year, Schultz worked hard to finish off his latest work, a fantastical bathysphere. 

Two excellent scratch made models from a couple of years ago include this exquisite steam tractor, made from his scrap laying around his shop and an absolutely exquisite Mack AC truck with completely scale board-by-board bed construction.

One of my favorite projects of Schultz was his attempt to take a 1970s sears ride on mower and make a drivable pint sized Packard out of it.

An exquisite model, this scale Mercedes was made from a myriad of found objects, old sheet metal, tricycle wheels and also features hand carved wood seats. Its a spectacular showcase of Schultz fine metalworking skills. Of particular note, the fully detailed dash and the beautifully sculpted rear fenders.

The steam chair is one of the earliest pieces of steampunk art Schultz did decades ago. The chair rides around on a pair of Essex motorcar wheels and is powered by a small vertical boiler. Its replete with a lovely small whistle, to alert bystanders as it charges through.

This is a very, very rare bike and a piece of history. This 1917 Arrow, built as a one-off custom bike by Schultz features a custom inline four engine, which was built by Schultz himself. It originally was painted green, but time, wear and tear have created a gorgeous rusty patina that really brings this bike to life.
