I have a schizospectrum disorder and english isnt my first language and thus talk weird. please only correct me if i say incomprehensible stuff or say bigoted or straight up incorrect things (aka if theres grammar errors but you can get the gist of what Im saying leave it be)

I wont be commenting much on topics like his anti-black racism or topics relating to weight, because Im not black or necessarily fat or chubby and thus Id rather uplift those who are than comment on it myself.

Im not interested in redesigning or criticising his ocs, I have better, more original ideas and Id rather not put my art here as an identifier. I may criticise the trends in his art as a whole

However, I’m confused by the fact that now people are coming out of the woodwork harassing random salt blogs who had nothing to do with that original situation, because most of them did call that person out or weren’t even online when that specifically happened. i did not mean to imply that how he uses things like being neurodivergent or jobless as a shield was free from criticism (absolutely not) nor is using people their goodwill by making things seem more dire so they donate money free from criticism either, just how people talk about these things can backfire on others when people question him on being neurodivergent or he's made fun of for not having a job, but you yourself said as much in your reply

while my previous ask have been all things i'd seen others do or say, it was not fair to throw out that criticism at you, and i should not have lumped every salt blog together like that and saying everyone is collectively doing this

even the WORST salt blogs haven't done the things salem has done, even that awful one that says "don't shoot the messenger" shit.

whenever people say stuff like "there's already a doc, just block him and move on" what they're really saying is "i don't care that someone this reprehensible has a platform, and i think it's stupid that you do"

i also, personally, think the idea that insulting him for [trait] here is insulting to other people with that trait is like... i think it's well-meaning but kind of silly. using joblessness as an example: i have empathy for people who are jobless out of real reasons, and don't think poorly of them. i think poorly of salem specifically for being jobless (among many other reasons of course) because him being jobless directly contributes to his horrid behavior. if a disabled person is jobless due to disability, and aren't using that and every other minority status they have to lie about why they need money to solicit donations from strangers for luxury purchases, we have no problem!

(not necessarily trying to /change/ your view on that specific thing, just giving an alternate view on it. i do genuinely hope you're having an okay day 💕)

the joblessness thing is similar to his DID claims to me. I have no issue with him having DID or not having a legal job (I believe employment in its current state is harmful more than helpful), the problem comes when he uses it as an excuse to get away with other shitty stuff he does.

whether he has DID or not he faked his race and continues to fetishise and stereotype his asian/blasian OCs AND ALTERS for being asian, (as a system, being multiple people doesnt make you be racist! not even a little!!) and groomed a kid. lets not forget that he literally groomed a kid.

however most if not all saltblogs being petty is just close to actual bullying and it also clogs up said blogs as well

bringing awareness of someone's bad behaviour when it gets repeated is fair and valid, but seeing floods of criticizing his art for being badly drawn, criticizing the way he looks and examining his skin colour, weight, and overal appearance, as well as criticizing his mental health and concern trolling about it at the same time, plus getting at him for not having a job or putting him being disabled in question is frankly extremely unnecessary, unhelpful, and can also reflect towards others (there have been people whose own self confidence tanked because of the criticizing his looks and the whole not working (not everyone can work especially when disabled or neurodivergent)) like i've seen salt blogs justify it because it's salem but saying these things about someone you don't like doesn't magically make it okay even if that person has done worse things than you have

there's plenty to criticize him for when it comes to more recent stuff, biggest one currently being the untagged incest art (which as a victim of incest is definitely very triggering)

but having a whole community (because yes with the amount of salt blogs and people who interact with them regularly it is a community at this point) examining his every move and posting about it, no matter how small, just clogs up his tag and any serious criticism

there's valid criticism to be had and should have attention paid to, but the sea of unrelated and petty criticisms drowns out most of it and is also a huge reason why many people do assume all of it is in bad faith because 80% of it is

you can deny you and the other salt blogs don't check every day or rarely and that you have a life outside of this but i also think a lot of you don't realize that posting near daily like this and watching salem as if it's entertainment is a little unhinged actually, even if you don't dedicate your whole life to it the time spent isn't insignificant either

the "justified" bullying where more and more people join in is not a good thing and frankly worrying, especially with many not seeing it as bad while those who do realize what they're doing is harmful not caring because the person they talk about is below them so they can be as ableist and scummy as they want because they would still be better

and comparing yourself to not doing anything near as bad as kiwifarms is just putting the bar in hell and still doesn't absolve anyone from doing bullying but Woke

tearing into people who are bad and have done bad things this way isn't holding someone accountable, and if you think it is then i really want to examine why and if you say it's because it's salem, then please understand that taking him down a peg isn't criticism especially if it would be bad or cruel to say these things to someone else (and no being overly confident isn't a crime)

and I do agree in that while a lot of those needless insults dont reach salem they reach other people that will be upset and insecure about that. why I focused on "hey instead of fakeclaiming him why dont we show people that he should be held accountable for his actions regardless of his escapist conditions" in a lot of my longer posts. not like you read them. not like you know who I am since you compare me to other blogs despite me directly asking people not to.

genuinely the most unnecessary claim I believe I had was that its weird how he doesnt bother to research the animals he makes furries of and then they end up not even resembling the animal themselves. as someone whos also a furry BECAUSE i like animals a lot i feel I have the right to air out my grievances on that on a relevant blog. I do believe a lot of the similar grievances with his art in particular is similar

I dont do this for "entertainment" and Ive been barely on n off on this blog to begin with. the topics I tackle I believe are serious and genuine analysis first and petty grievances second. Im horrified at the implication that you think this is entertaining for me to watch my favorite internet artist for the longest time expose me to nsfw art at a young age, go okay well so long as i dont interact its probably okay, only to learn he has a history of talking sexually with minors, abuse, defending groomers and rapists, among other stuff, youve got a really fucked up idea of "fun"

this is an anonymous sideblog and a hub for anonymous askers we only check rarely. we have a life outside of it. every other salt blog also does. what you see on this blog is a verry narrow look at me. you wouldnt say this to any other salt or complaint hub blogs for fictional media or petty discourse. salem himself is not any more immune to criticism
