Not many people have been talking about this fight for whatever reason, so I made a little video showing how to unlock it and the start of the fight.  I didn’t want to spoil the actual battle, but the music is nice!

Hello everyone! Deltarune just came out, and I’ve been scouring it for secrets and easter eggs.  Since the 24 hour embargo is up, I figure it’s probably OK to share a few that I’ve found.  If you haven’t played Deltarune yet, go do that first!  Suffice it to say that Toby has created a followup that’s worthy of Undertale.  It’s available for free at https://www.deltarune.com/  

OK, this first secret is a bit obscure.  I was trying to figure out if the original Starwalker would say anything different if you talked to him a few times, and while doing that I discovered that if you start at the right side, when you ring the bell you are only frozen while the bird’s head is on screen.  If you start running right just when it goes offscreen it’s possible to catch up with it, though it’s hard!  If you almost catch him you get 40g, but if you catch him head on it’s different. The first time I did it I got this odd message:

I was using my controller at the time, so I decided to unplug it and try again.  When I caught it again, this time I got an item:

It’s an OK piece of equipment (just raises your magic), so I figured nothing was special about it until I went back into the elevator in the castle and saw this guy.

Apparently he’s a doormouse.  He takes the mouse token and lets you through the door.  

Inside is a short path that leads to this small clearing.  Not much here.  The holes in the wall just squeak at you, but you can talk to the mouse wizard.

He says the wall is the Maucity, but since he’s a field mouse he has to stay out in the field.  If you go into the hut he has a shop.

He has lots of great looking items for sale.

I bought a gigasalad, but it actually only restores 4hp.  And if you try to buy any of the others you get this message:

He kind of raps on the menu a bit, and apologizes for being too short to get it for you (one of the chat options mentions he isn't the original shopowner). I suspect there’s a way to get him to sell the other items, but I haven’t been able to figure it out.

They actually did it!  The Sentry Worm body pillow is now available for sale.  At last, Sentry Worm is given his moment in the sun.

A close-up look at a classic Canadian hypersthene (iron-enriched enstatite, a close relative of diopside and jadeite).  It is shot through with what look like fine planty crystals of likely exsolved hematite or ferrosilite.  This material has a gorgeous, rippled silvery sheen in the hand.  It is usually seen as tumbles or poorly cut commercial cabs, but a friend recently cut a few proper cabochons from it and all I can say is they look amazing (picture borrowed from his etsy page, though I’m afraid that cab is already sold):

Why is everything I draw directly or indirectly related to sentry worm?  I don’t really know but I’m more than happy to keep it that way.

I drew a monster in the style of @frankiesmileshow (particularly his WeekendRPG sprites) for Halloween.  I think it's fair to say he's inimitable but it was a fun little project!
