AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.

Here are the important details:

We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner. 

We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.

To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.

THE OPTION SHOULD BE TOGGLED OFF BY DEFAULT AND ENABLED BY THE USER. OPT-IN, NOT OPT-OUT.

Forcing within your site's settings that everyone is giving automatic consent until they notice and opt out is fucking unethical. DeviantArt already tried this and got their asses handed to them.

First things first, I am TickedTimeBomb, AKA Alphie. I do Writing, Video Game Programming, Drawing, and Animation.

Earlier this week, I left my house to go visit my close friend, after she had moved out of state.

I had several money issues come up, that ended up consequentially prolonging my stay. I finally got back home.

Why im here is the fact that while I was gone, My roommate had access to a shared laptop. One that I've been using for about 2 years now to work on all my projects. I had videos, animations, shows, scripts, AND video games planned exclusively for SCP.

And they were all deleted. Permanently.

I lost every file on that computer.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there.

I came back home after my vacation was over, and when I went to boot up my laptop, It didn't work.

My roommate then confessed to me that a few days after the wipe, my cats had walked across the top of the laptop, which doesn't sound like much of an issue, but if anyone knows me, they understand that i have an issue with my cats... breaking things they walk on top of.

My computer's motherboard broke.

I have no other laptop apart from a small, $20 one I got online, and that one will not even run more than one tab of chrome without crashing.

It will not be able to handle any of my projects.

I want to be able to afford a decent laptop that only I will have access to, that I can program, animate, and use without many issues.

This is where my asking comes in.

I'm offering something small, I have a Kofi, if you donate, I'll do some drawings for you, I take commissions, I do writing commissions too (for those who prefer fanfiction over artwork) just 5 or 10 dollars means alot to me.

Ill take DM requests too, but I will probably try to negotiate the request if im not comfortable drawing it.

Afford yourself the same gentleness that you would afford another creative - negative self-talk is counterproductive and frankly cruel.

Self-indulgent creations are satisfying to others as well; don’t apologize for your own pleasure.

i honestly feel like if anthy and talloran were to meet they would be Friends? we shouldnt be pitting two queer bad bitches against each other, they should commiserate over their torments and hang out. i think talloran would be mortified over someone so young experiencing Horror and anthy would pause at talloran’s gender expression and be like “wait thats rad.”

You read that right an old post. Around the same time admin Brights allegations first came out maybe even earlier. I don't remember. I do remember that admin Bright wasn't the only predator on the wiki. But what pisses me off is how no one talked about the others and people still rarely do. It's because the wiki staff doesn't care about victims they care that the wiki was gaining a reputation for being a breeding ground for predators. A reputation it rightfully deserves.

I spoke with someone in the comments of a previous post about how this is going to be a major dividing point in the community. I think this could be another run of when people got pissed about the pride logo and went off and tried to make their own wiki. This might even be worse than that because the Bright character has been a big part of this community since the beginning of it. But no matter your opinion on the Bright situation this community needs to put an end to the wiki.

As horrible and annoying as content farms and YouTube channels that put their own spin on things that don't provide any content to the wiki can be. I think they are on the right track with putting their own content and ideas for SCPs and cross testing scenarios etc on YouTube and other platforms and not the wiki. I highly doubt anyone will take my advice on this but if you have ideas for tales or SCPs just post them on YouTube or here on Tumblr or AO3 or anywhere but the wiki. Especially since people on here have talked about how how DJK specifically gets people baned for not liking his work. Which is also in a previous post I rebloged.

The wiki is a shit place that defends predators until they get caught doing so. Then they make half assed videos and solutions to the fact they got caught but continue to do nothing about the fact that there are still predators in the community! DJK is proof of that!

It's the transphobia in a community that is supposed to be LGBTQ+ positive. It's the dating a 17 year old. It's attempting to pressure a freshly turned 18 year old into drinking before having sex. Fuck the admins and the staff that ignored and continue to ignore this fuck them for ignoring the admin bright situation for longer than they should have. I highly doubt this is the only person DJK has done this to because that's the nature of this shit especially those that don't get called out for it. I highly doubt there aren't more predators on the wiki that we just don't know about. This is a problem and the wiki staff cares more about popularity and reputations than victims.
