came across a youtube short (yes, I watch youtube shorts I'm sorry) about male animals that don't have that great of a life and one of the downsides to one of the birds was not knowing if the kids were his and I just sat there for a moment like. why the fuck would an animal care about this? aside from like I don't know lions I can hardly see why animals who just want to reproduce the species would care about if the kid is theirs... also there weren't even any downsides animal related so it just leads me to think the human guy making the video applied some human morality to an animal
