here: a case study. a three year old tweet describing home cooking as, quote, "regressive, NIMBY-aligned, problematically gendered" and "reifying existing class structures". what this leftslop salad and the corresponding inflammation of online arguments belie is that the model contemporary home kitchen, the Frankfurt kitchen, is a 99 year invention. by a communist, and not necessarily for individual homes, but that's beside the point: the point is that what your mind conjures when you think "kitchen" is upstaged in venerable timelessness by fucking coca-cola. do you think that, for the majority of human history, a history of tight resource management combatting ever-encroaching entropic deprivation, a history largely deprived of refrigeration, mile-per-hour transport, individual packaging... do you think that this was a world of individual cooks slaving to serve minute portions to families of, like, four? do you think this is the world now, everywhere? do you expect that it should be? forever?
