Hello !! Welcome to a rp blog for my Lost Boys oc- James Oscar!
Main is @sapphiregem01 - Asks are open to all!! Feel free to interact as either an oc or lost boys character - Mod is 18 so 18+ interactions + shipping/flirting are fine but not with minors/characters who are minors
I rp as both his Musical version and Movie version on here so feel free to specify in asks if you wanna rp with a specific one (will be denoted by colored text)
-Main info about him-
Freelance sound/lighting tech guy for the lost boyās band
Part time worker at the Santa Carla records store (Met Michael there)
Age 19
Vampire who got turned in the mid 1970s
Baby sat the Frog brothers when he first moved to town- is the one who got the two hooked on vampire hunting (complete accident- he often would warn the two about vampires so they wouldnāt wind up turned like him)
His back teeth are really fucking sharp, like nearly as sharp as his fangs
TURBO NEEERRRDDD <3
[Random fun fact] Plays piano shockingly well, and a little bit of guitar
Below is specific differences/info about his Movie version and his Musical version! (Art/proper designs of each coming soon)
Fashion sense leans more 80s punk since he hangs around the gang a little more
Still laid back but does NOT let the Frogs come to the gangs concerts out of fear theyāll figure out the whole vampire thing, also watches the Frogs a little more closely than his musical counterpart
Still not in/part of the gang but follows them around more and is a little closer to them, still thinks Max is a weirdo tho
Still closer to Sam than Michael but knows Michael better here due to the gang, often takes the Frogs and Sam over to the record store whenever the main gang shows up at the comic shop

It was a warm summer evening in Santa Carla, a slight breeze flowing through the air as many of the shops along the boardwalk began to pack up for the night. Many, except for one- the records store, āSanta Carla Recordsā, still has its lights on with a lone employee rooming the quaint shop, seemingly taking stock of inventory.
His gaze flickered between a clipboard and the shelves, checking off and noting down what they did and didnāt have, picking up a vinyl every now and then to check its condition before moving onto the next.
He was so engrossed in the task, muttering to himself under his breath as he realized some teenager stole another walkman cassette when he wasnāt looking, that he didnāt hear the bell above the front door ring, jumping nearly a foot in the air when he turned to a costumer that had suddenly appeared behind him.
āSHIT- Fucking- gah-ā He startled, nearly his dropping his dropping his clipboard but managing to catch it after a bit of fumbling. Once awkwardly cleared his throat once he realized there was no threat, straightening himself up and plastering a well-practiced costumer service smile onto his face. āWelcome to Santa Carla Records! Best- and only- record store in town! How can I help you to-.. night?ā
Michael had been meaning to check out the record store since the day he saw it. Especially with the lack of entertainment at their new home, he was in desperate need of some new music. If not to fight off boredom, then to just give him something to do to drown out his mother's prodding and his brother's nagging.
Michael enters the Record Store and freezes for a moment when the cashier startles. "Shit, sorry," he says, shutting the door behind him. "Didn't mean to scare you. You alright?"
He steps further into the store, glancing around at the different displays. He goes on, "Yeah, actually, do you have any Echo and the Bunnymen cassettes? Been meaning to grab one for ages," he says, running a hand through his hair.
āIām alright, donāt worry.ā The employee assured before happily motioning behind himself to the storeās cassette shelves. āI think weāve got a few yeah, ābelieve weāve even got a sale on Bunnymen at the moment, had a kid coming in asking about them for his older-.. brother..ā He trailed off, squinting at the guy for a moment as if deep in thought. ā.. Hey.. youāre the older Emerson kid, arenāt yaā!ā
Michael laughs a little. āSure am,ā he says with a smile. āDidnāt expect anyone to know that with how new we are. But it sounds like youāve already met Sammy? He says.ā
It strikes Michael that Sammy had been asking about stuff for him. With everything that had been going on with them recently, Michael didnāt think Sammy would be keeping him in mind like that. He wasnāt sure how to feel about it, so he didnāt comment on it.
āYe-ep!ā The man beamed, popping the āpā dramatically as he pointed to a sign on the wall reading that all Bunnymen Walkman cassettes were on sale for 60% off, along with a couple others. āQuite the steal if I do-say-so-myself.ā
He set his clipboard down on the shelf before he asking over to the front cashier counter, realizing he should probably get to actually doing his job. āAnd for the record, yeah I know Sammy. Hard for me not to- Iām the Frog brotherās babysitter, so I see that kid a lot. Heās got pretty good taste in comics.ā
āNo kidding,ā Michael says, picking up the cassette for Ocean Rain and looking it over, smiling. āPicked a good time to come in.ā
Michael looks back up at James. āRight, the Frog brothers. They have been hanging around my brother a bunch. Glad that heās made friends, even if they do seem⦠kinda weird,ā he says.
āI take it youāve become acquainted with how much of a comic nerd my brother is then. If I had known heād become such a fanatic, maybe I would have refrained for putting him on comics when I did,ā he says with a small laugh. āThen again, it may have been an inevitability.ā
āI think he said he met the Frog brothers at the comic shop here. Are they comic crazy too?ā
James chuckled and nodded, pulling out some more records from behind the front desk to restock. āOhhh yeah, theyāre insane about the stuff.. which mightāve been my fault..ā He mumbled, tugging at the many pins adorning his uniform jacket.
āBut hey, at least all those little weirdos found each other- Samās a good kid, I think heāll be pretty good for my boys.ā A fond smile tugged at his face as he pulled out a small Polaroid from his pocket and handed it to Michael, the picture being of the three boys in the comic shop fawning over a new release. āPlus I can promise you now that even if they are a bit much, Samās in good hands.ā
Michael smiles at the photo of his brother. He looks so happy in the photo, so excited. Michael tries to remember the last time he saw Sam that excited about anything. Itās a bittersweet sight.
āThose kids are definitely a little strange, but⦠yeah. Itās good theyāre friends,ā he says. āSammy didnāt have⦠the best time with making friends back in Phoenix. School especially was rough for him. Even if theyāre kinda weird⦠itās nice to know heās been able to make friends so quickly.ā
He turns his gaze back to James. āDo the Frogs have many friends?ā
James hummed in understanding. āYeah I feel that- the Frogs really havenāt had much luck making friends either, really. Those two are a..ā He waved his hand in the air vaguely, trying to think of a way to phrase what he meant. ā.. Special brand of weird, Iām sure youāve noticed.ā
He walked over to a shelf to begin restocking, setting records on the display as he talked. āThose two have really only stuck together for the last couple years Iāve known them..ā He trailed off, going silent for a moment before turning back to Michael with a fond smile. āAnd then Sam showed up. Even if itās just one friend- itās still a friend, and Iām glad they found him.ā
āYeah, Iāve certainly noticed.ā Michael chuckles. āWhat is up with the army clothes? I donāt think Iāve seen them wear anything else.ā
āItās⦠interesting,ā Michael muses. āIām not sure Iāve seen a pair of siblings that in sync. Most siblings Iāve seen fight a lot more than them, whichā sounds like they used to fight a lot more, too. What changed? Do you know?ā
James paused in thought for a moment before shrugging, turning back to the shelves. āHonestly, not a clue- my best guess is after a while they realized that they didnāt have any other friends other than themselves, so they just decided to stick together..ā
āNo idea about the army clothes, though, I think thatās just for style.ā He chuckled, striding over to a cassette shelf next.

If whoever/whatever higher power or some bullshit decided my single ass should work mostly with the ultimate polycule from hell hi hello I hope you explode and die actually.
Heyy sooo if I promised to give you a free record of your choosing would you wanna go shopping with me again? :] (this time for mic stuff cuz yknow Marko accidentally threw one last show. Again.)
āOmg why do we need cables when we can just fly on our own ???ā Well maybe because then people will realize youāre vampires, David. I understand the point but if people see yall LITERALLY FLYING IN YOUR OWN I THINK THEYLL GET IDEAS-
šŗh, I wonder who this is all about, huhā¦Thereās no need for name callingā¦Jamesā¦Dramaticsā¦Sticks and stones can break your bones but shots fired in war canāt be so easily taken back after. Ahā¦Got a bite to you today I see. Whatever you say. Itās really none of our concern, is it? People seeing usā¦Most of the town hasnāt suspected us before, they buy into the theatricsā¦Old razzle dazzle in actionā¦
Considering they might start suspecting me as well if you guys are caught and Iāll lose all of my jobs I do believe it does involve me⦠but yeah yeah, sorry for beinā a little bitchy. To be fair I mainly got the cables so the boardwalk main tech team doesnāt suspect anything since theyāll know for a fact we wonāt have cables and will be confused as hell as to how yall are flyin. Lets hope your razzle dazzle keeps up for now
Lowkey also didnāt think youād see this so.. sorry?-
šæhatās innocent of you to believe in, isnāt it? Often keep my eyes out wide around townā¦Never much I donāt know about. Our kind should remain observant and ready for whatever opportunities or enemies may come our way, James. In those cases the element of surprise may be all we have working in our favor. Also all the better for hearing whatās said about me behind closed doors when they think I donāt hear itā¦Iām an observant type. See what others donātā¦Never take that for granted or else you lose the upper hand, friend.
Apology accepted, though next time you have a grievance with the way I am it would be better to just go on and say it to my face already rather than the crowd. Either way itās inevitable Iāll find out what you said soon, regardless of if you intended it to come out-all secrets do in the end.
Fair, fair, and fine, next time Iāll just yell at you onstage, heh. Just consider this me getting back at you for refusing to give me your lighting ideas for like literal weeks
š¹ot what I meant and you know it, James. But, Iāll take itā¦What I can get. Guess it is better than the alternative options out on the table. Considers us fair and square over the little lighting incident. Though trust me, it wasnāt as big of a deal as you made it out to beā¦
