since i am thinking about doctor who and middleman, i might as well repost this… with apologies to @nataliemorales

Me: OHMYGOD, BRAINFLASH. Derek has totally run into furries before. Like, the furry community totes has sekrit wolf knowledge. Of course they would, they’re active online and are fascinated by animal/man creatures.

Me: He doesn’t *get* the sexual fascination, exactly, but whatever. There are worse ways to react to finding out he’s a werewolf than wide-eyed adoration and a semi-chub.

Me: It’s proven both highly useful and highly…awkward in the past. Sometimes both at the same time. Again: whatever.

Me: And then one of his contacts comes to town, complete with fuzzy ears and a codename like Renard. Some of the others get snarky—“ew, a furry?” And Derek gets all protective. Because fuck you, there are PLENTY of worse things to be.

Me: Aw, now I wanna write about Derek’s furry friend. Who’s this dainty guy in his late twenties who’s bonkers over Derek. (Or girl. Or both. Or neither. Renard isn’t quite clear on that point.) And Derek is all PROTECTIVE and CAREFUL about this person and super-awkward about the crush. It’ll never happen and they both know it—I think Renard even has a hubby up in Portland, a big husky huskie, snerk—but sie just can’t help going a little heart-eyed around Derek when sie comes to visit. A furry never forgets their first werewolf!
