do you get what i mean? everyone understands it is a place where these boys, consciously and unconsciously, make their own new rules and some of these boys, without adults and their system to judge them, can be and are more open in showing affection, planotic and hell yeah, i'll say it with my whole chest, ambiguously romantic affection with each other.

and what about the slight (forced) feminization of piggy? he's different, he's the 'other'. not manly enough for ralph to care for his real name and story because he's fat. he deeply cares (like a mother), worries, plans the meetings at the right time and the pretty and manly boy ralph takes the credit. it's all what it takes for the boys to make fun of him. he ends up dead because of who he is. god, imagine if there was a girl (or multiple).

[ralph saw another manly and tough boy (jack) and cared enough for him to let him have another leading position. his equal. isn't that admiration? isn't that love?]

and yes, i know, it sounds like i'm contradicting myself a little bit here. maybe i am. i am not saying they suddenly forgot about the patriarchal system, the way they formed themselves was pretty patriarchal in a sense because that's how they were taught...

how do i say this?... it's very difficult. everything is political, i hope you understand that. even love. and yeah, they talk about food and shelter for everyone (at first), sounding a lot like primitive communism... but once again, there are no girls around, no sexual private property. they leave love behind in the conversation when talking about food and shelter... so in that sense, they are free.

and yes, i do understand the concept of friendship. i accept many boys on the island are friends but there are certain things you can't ignore. why is such a crazy idea to think the author is touching these subjects? whyyyyyyyyyyy does it bother people so much? even if the author isn't exactly touching these subjects, there are some things we do unconsciously. sometimes your intentions don't matter; some things happen when you're not even thinking about them.
