five stages of grief

anger

Iâm actually sick of seeing the word aspergerâs. everyone who is classified as having aspergerâs syndrome is Just autistic you donât need another word for it, especially since that word was coined by a fucking eugenicist to describe the autistics he thought were still, like, useful to society
aspergerâs syndrome is also no longer a medically recognized diagnosis itâs not even a factually correct term

Seven Friends Buy Mansion in China so They Can Grow Old Together
i hope more people do this in the future â¤ď¸
My favourite part of the article is that they formed this project years before they were able to make it a reality, and in the meantime âeach friend has made sure [to] specialize in an area that would benefit all of them when they moved in togetherâfrom cooking and growing vegetables to traditional Chinese medicine and playing music.â
@11thsense our dream
The tea is that nothing I have ever gone through has been in vain and everything I am heading towards is better than anything I left behind and I am still blessed to be in this moment
maybe that's the thing about getting olderâyou'll learn to close some doors, not because of pride, but because of protecting your own privacy & peace of mind. you'll realize that not every shape will fit, that some things cannot happen.
maybe growing also means accepting and choosing to look forward, even if you walk with your broken pieces in your hands.
I'm so fucking thankful we went from "stomp on me!!! Beat the shit outta me!!!" to "I am looking respectfully." That's fucking absolutely perfect just keep it right there
not to sound like an evil and monstrous brown woman but i will never have any empathy for white women and white lgbt people who join the ranks of fascists. i donât give a single fuck if they face misogyny or homophobia in their political circles. thatâs what you get for aligning with your whiteness to enhance your own position in society. and if this makes me sound like a terrible, loveless person, then so fucking be it. no one forced them into brutalizing or hating people of color and jewish people.Â

important image description psa
hi! my name is cassie, iâm deaf, and my full-time job primarily involves working in disability access. iâm here with an important message about image and audio descriptions:
when youâre describing things for disabled people, you should not include your personal opinion on the thing youâre describing. even if itâs positive! you shouldnât describe things as âa beautiful paintingâ, âa gorgeous photoâ, âa wonderful songâ, etc. i mean, if youâre sighted, think about how annoying it would be if every. single. picture you saw online was captioned with âthis is beautiful and you like thisâ or âthis is ugly and you hate itâ, with the expectation that you have to agree with whatever the caption says and your own opinion doesnât matter. it would be super annoying, right!
not to mention, iâve seen people do this on pictures of real people, which can get weirdâespecially if theyâre in a marginalized group youâre not in, in which case it can start to feel very fetishizing.Â
so, to recap:
good descriptions: âa realistically-rendered oil painting of a treeâ, âa selfie of a person with short blue hairâ, âa pencil sketch of taakoâ
bad descriptions: âa gorgeously realistic oil painting of a treeâ, âa selfie of an adorable person with short blue hairâ, âa fantastic pencil sketch of taakoâ
(i encourage reblogs on this, because this is a huge issue that iâd love to see people gain awareness of)
Howard Zinn (August 24, 1922 â January 27, 2010) was an American historian, professor, and social activist. Zinn grew up in Brooklyn in a working-class, immigrant household. His lifeâs work focused on a wide range of issues including race, class, war, and history, and touched the lives of countless people. He wrote the influential A Peopleâs History of the United States, and his memoir You Canât Be Neutral on a Moving Train. From 1956 to 1963, he taught at Spelman College where he became active in the Civil Rights Movement and was eventually fired because of his involvement in the black freedom movement.Â
âFeminism/womanism never seemed odd to Howard Zinn, who encouraged his Spelman students, all of them women, to name and challenge oppression of any sort.
I was Howardâs student for only a semester, but in fact, I have learned from him all my life. His way with resistanceâ-steady, persistent, impersonal, often with humorâ-is a teaching I cherish.â - Alice Walker
Before he died, Zinn stated that he would like to be remembered âfor getting more people to realize that the power which rests so far in the hands of people with wealth and guns, that the power ultimately rests in people themselves and that they can use it. At certain points in history, they have used it. Black people in the South used it. People in the womenâs movement used it. People in the anti-war movement used it. People in other countries who have overthrown tyrannies have used it.â
