trying to excuse behavior that you would have called out if directed at someone else because you dont think its contributing a much greater issue is dumb. its ignoring the fact that your individual actions have effects on individual people and that since it doesnt have any greater longterm effects on a demographic, then you can pretend youre not wrong for participating in that behavior :-////
This is a good example of why the word "privilege" is sometimes a really bad choice for describing disparities in rights.
Not being mocked over being "ugly" is a RIGHT, not a privilege. It is not an unfair advantage men have over women, it's being treated with dignity and kindness.
Making it acceptable to mock men over ugliness is a step toward equality of "everyone gets mocked" when the goal SHOULD be "NO ONE gets mocked" and if you can't tell the difference between these two things you should stay the fuck away from any level of activism because your ideal seems to be "everyone suffers" and that's not something anyone needs.

Also, bodyshaming men HAS serious consequences. Maybe not as widespread as bodyshaming women, but that doesn't make it nonexistant.
Male actors have been hospitalized due to organ damage caused by the dehydration regimines they're put under to make their muscles stand out. Anorexia and other eating disorders run rampant in the gay male community. Men commit suicide over body issues. Men do, in fact, get plastic surgery over body issues.
Bodyshaming does not become a victimless crime because the 'right gender' was degraded.
Not to be a deontologist on main, but in general, if you want to be a *good person,* tm, you should not be looking for excuses to use the tools of evil.

Justice doesn't seek to be unjust. If you have to tell yourself that it's ok to do [bad thing you know God damn well is bad] this ONE TIME because [other, unrelated bad thing someone else did, supposedly*], then what you're looking to do isn't justice. When questioned, you should be able to say of your actions, "I have done what is right and what is needed, and you know it."
*though, think as well: how often are we persecuting innocents, for things like "is a little awkward" or "idk just seemed creepy I guess?" Or in this case "isn't conventionally attractive?" Come on, we know better.
