Last night I did my first little bit of tdf spinning! Last year I cleaned and carded up 3 pounds of Cheviot fleece, and this month I'm going to spin as much of it as I can.

Most will be Z twist (clockwise spin) but some will be S twist (counter clockwise). For a while I have been planning a large weaving sampler to test several variables in a woven cloth. These will all be woven as singles.

I'm not bringing my wheel, so I've got two spindle projects packed.

One of my favourite localish dyers - Shades of Ewe. This blend is so squishy!

Spindle is locally made and can be used suspended or supported. I'll see what the fiber wants.

Second up:

Started working on this supported spindle project a little while ago.

I got probably 1.5 oz spun and I started the plying process!

ough so apparently it‘s tour de fleece and my perma-exhausted brain didn‘t even register it?? anyway I will (for obvious reasons) not give myself any challenges, but instead try to finish some WIPs. Left is the alpaca/silk braid I‘ve been chipping away at for months now (thanks depression for the hiatus and general difficulty doing things), which I will let rest a bit and then chain ply.
