I think it's insane that even in the most leftist and "progressive" spaces the idea of equating morality with looks is alive and present and no one fucking bats an eye at it. like racists and mysoginysts are always portrayed as fat and hairy and generally unkept, as a contrast to the morally good and attractive leftists of course; people will have no problem being genuinely fucking awful about someone's appearance if they're deemed to be a "bad person". and the worst part is you point all of this out and people act like you're reading too much into things like no dude you gotta start using your brain more

My partner is quite likely trans, but is stuck at the "it's too late for me, I have accepted this already" stage. People who do not know my partner irl call them by the pronouns I think they want to be called by, they play games as characters of the gender I think they wish to be off etc, but as said above, they feel like it's too late irl. I have no idea how to support them in understanding it's not too late at all besides gently showing them people who transitioned later in life (and we are only in our early 30s!). There's a lot of trauma involved, like having been forced to act "stereotypically their birth sex" in their youth. Anyway, so this is an open call to tell me what helped you to accept that you were trans and it wasn't too late 😭
Ps. they do use they/them irl right now so i am not misgendering my partner - they use a other set of pronouns as well, that of their birth sex, but I have absolutely no plan on telling random people on tumblr their agab especially in this situation.
honestly one of the worst things about getting isekai'd is the one day adjustment period where you're frantically trying to remember whether the creator of the vaguely european middle ages fantasy setting you're in is familiar with the historical agricultural products of europe so you know if you're about to face the consequences of being reborn in a world where you can't get caffeine or nicotine
going down a conversation chain where I ask every farmer I encounter whether they've heard of a potato, and even though many of them are saying yes, I'm getting the sense it's a cruel joke because every time I ask for more details they immediately proceed to describe an apple with an elemental earth enchantment
I sense that the potato thing is funnier in French.
You can’t tell me Rolan didn’t look at Orion like this in that one scene
did perfectionism ever truly protect you from harm or neglect as a child though. ultimately. Lol
[REALLY NORMAL AND WELL-ADJUSTED VOICE] well you never know maybe it COULD have saved me. if i ever actually achieved perfection. it could have happened then. if i was actually ever enough. Which i was not

If I ever publish my book half of this site will hate it and call it all kinds of names and blame me for being many horrible things. I wouldn't take it any other way.

What a wonderful, immersive political fantasy with a deeply moving love story.
